Rednecks have high morals......according to the Urban Dictionary.


Redneck

Decent, proud of heritage, usually of Indian heritage, blatantly honest, high morals. Real Rednecks are the salt of the earth types that hold true to what is right and wrong, are decent, hard working, faithful to friends and family, not ashamed to stand up for strong morals and common sense. They are NOT the green toothed, inbred, black hating, idiots that are portrayed in the LIEbral media from tv to the movies and print. They are from every corner of the earth, and they come in every nationality. It is the pure decency and no quit attitude among them that sets them apart from the people that are out to destroy that common thread among good people everywhere. They are from every walk of life. The ones that can't stand them and are the nay sayers here are the same that want the world handed to them on a platter, have no morals, own nothing, will not work, and are otherwise just a sponge on society and a blight on the world's good people. They hate anything that decent, hard working people (Rednecks) stand for such as family, morals, integrity, tradition, common sense.

Some really good reading here. I think we all agree that neurological disorders, and good parents having children grow up bad, and bad parents having children grow up good, are all everyday occurrences, but also exeptions to what we see (most of us being close in age) as the decline in morals and ethics in our world society. I to think that all come into this life as good. Some changes seem to be somewhat hardwired, perhaps as a survival instinct, such as lying. I don't think any child knows how to lie, or what a lie is. But at some point "did you do that?" and the child's thought process some how tells them they wiil benefit in some way by not telling the truth.

Which is where parenting kicks in to show them that a lie is not the answer. But must continue beyond that, and this is a ongoing and long term project (parenting) to try and show them not only is it wrong, but why, and how accepting the consequences and owning up to them is better in the long run.

But also learning how to know at some time total honesty is not the best. Such as a young childs pet dies, but if they are not at the developmental point to hear that, it is better to say they went away. Very difficult to communicate some of these things to children in a way they understand. So it is a long and continuous work in process. If at some point during this time there are interruptions to the process, for any number of reasons the outcome may be altered.

Then that child has children, and their slightly skewed view of morals becomes the starting point to which they try to teach their children. So with all the other factors that have been discussed, I think that there is also somewhat of a snow balling affect going on as well.

Add to those the reasons the older ones were foster kids and you can scarcely begin picture all the day-to-day excitement!

Foster/adoptive dad. The older ones arrived @ ages 12 9 8 7 & 5. 3 @ birth. Now ages 16 15 13* 12 10 8 6 & 3*.
* 14 & 4 next month

Did I mention an 18 year old birth child who inherited ADD from me? (Sigh)

I look at it this way...

There will always be defective products coming out of a factory. Sometimes Polk has a defective product get released. You get lemons from automobile manufacturers. The human factory is bound to produce lemons itself and no matter what you do to try to fix it, it's beyond fixable and needs to be scrapped.

Not everyone comes out wired with MIT...some come out with Audioquest...some come out wired backwards with lamp cord.

The human factory is nowhere near perfect!
