The same SVS / Subwoofer questions asked OVER and OVER. Actually, I'm suprised Doc takes the time he does to answer most of them, I can't tell you how many times he's repeated himself. There is more SVS info here than on the damn SVS website. Don't get me wrong, its a GREAT product, and I recommend it to people often, but hello.....search feature?

The open-ended, no right answer 'which receiver should I get, a or b?' Search feature works well here. Nah, lets rehash the Ford vs Chevy, which one should I get. Maybe there will be an obvious consesus this time.

Similar questions like 'what should I use for side surrounds, dipole or direct radiating'? I can't count how many times that has been discussed. Have I mentioned the Search feature on this forum? (and yes, sometimes you need to look for more than 2 minutes to find what you are looking for)

In general, a lack of individuality, or at least the lack of willingness to try *something* different. Ie, a piece of gear that no one has recommened / mentioned. I hate heard mentality, and yes, there are only so many Polk speakers to choose from - but how many here run the RTi70/ CSi40/ FXi50/ SVS combo on a Denon receiver, with a Mitsu TV. (for example) Let's all just buy the same thing, not that we won't like it, but because we either A. don't want to try anything outside the 'norm', or B. just don't know any better.

I'm not pointing fingers, and I REALLY like all you guys, and love this hobby we share - but recently it's just a WHIP for the most part around here. Same ****, different day.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I think we all should go out and buy some bookshelfs, turn them upside down and play them with our mains! :D Gah, I love being different :D

most annoying post to me has gotta be surround option posts, like mentioned above, which receiver is better, and......SVS posts, although I am a large majority of them, other various things.

OH YEAH! EVERY WHINEY POST THAT IS COMPLAINING........THOSE ARE THE MOST ANNOYING.......

    and my posts.....haha

Let's see some posts about OTHER speakers, OTHER subs. There is TONS of great gear out there, gear that a lot of members are enjoying. How about sources, dacs, preamps - lets see comments / pictures / info about those steals and deals you all are coming across.

Even wire for christ sake, I know the forum is running more than Monster, Kimber, and Signal Cable - whatcha got? How's it sound?

I'd like to see (and will try myself) more reviews on music selections. I'm tired of the cd's I own - what are you guys using for demo material, what little known atrists and songs do you enjoy on your rigs?

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Would be nice for a change :)

Better be careful with that one. Bash gear you dun like and the loonies come out of the woodwork to bash you for not liking what some poor schlub schnookered them into buying.

The posts that annoy me the most are the ones where the author asks questions that have answers they could easily find themselves with this neat thing called an Internet search engine. Yet they are so lazy, inconsiderate and unaware of thier surroundings that they see no problem in asking the rest of us to take our time and do thier research for them.

Now I have no problem answering questions, even if they are repetative. But being asked for specific brands for general recommendations bugs me. I will help you interpret specifications and if you come and ask me about a single, specific brand, I will give you my experienced opinion but if you want me to do the research, find the brands that fit your criteria and give you a summation report of what I found for you on an internet message forum well, there is a little matter of a consultation fee. My time is valuable to me and I was a novice at one point too. I took the time to research and learn myself because it was important and worthwhile to me. If you can't be bothered with that then go and talk to the salesman at CC or BB because that's about all you really deserve to give yourself.

Now we have all been lazy at one point or another and I am certainly very guilty of that myself but, laziness is foolishness and a fool and his money are soon parted.

Not just here Russ. SVS threads abound on every HT forum I visit. Lazyness is why the search feature is not used. It's mush easier to post the same question than take the time to search for your answer. Heck, even I'm quilty of that.

Considering you can build the exact same sub for half the price with almost no wood working skills and a little help from doc I am surprised DIY is not talked about more.

    Peace Out~:D

    ok WOW,
In general, a lack of individuality, or at least the lack of willingness to try *something* different. Ie, a piece of gear that no one has recommened / mentioned.

I agree with this statement to a point.Trying something different is always a fun adventure.I search for places within driving distance or so just to hear and play with gear I haven't in the past.

Lack of Individuality.....thats a bit harsh but I find most people don't get or have the resources that some of us do have.Alot of people in here don't have any audio video stores close by to go explore. So Bestbuy and CC are all they have...shame but true.

Taking experience from someone online can help alittle or at least get you started.

I have spoken to another......that refuses to use/try or own any gear that gets recommened.I don't find that 2 be good logic as they could miss out on some nice ****.

Willingness is key here.Having an open mind is another.......

    Bring something to the table......

Finding the correct gear is a journey.I don't see an end to the road.Only new beginnings and memories of long gone.....in the end you'll find it.........but not today.

    MadMax,

    ROTFLMFAO ...

I think I saw a pic of the Bose speakers of my dreams in another thread here with about 3 pounds of dust and grime on them.

I always knew they were a "stick in the mud" or was it that they just sound better that way ?

i know i am only a new person here, but in case of subject matter, it really shouldn't be a problem here about topics, since this is a polk audio forum, so the topic should be about polk audio and audio related things...can't really have new and interesting things to talk about, unless its related to audio equipment...
