I was playing it at rather extreme volume last night and the amp was hardly working. Cool to the touch and it didn't trigger any protection circuits.
Not surprising. As I mentioned previous the 4 ish ohm load should'nt be a problem for that amp.

Just added spikes to mine, works/sounds great.

What spikes did you buy? And has anyone attached the speakers to the back wall?

    Define "attached".

The "Big Guys", the SDA SRS series had a "bass brace" that secured the top of the speaker to the rear wall. It was several inches long, so the speaker was pushed into the room by that amount. Supposedly cleaned-up the bass a bit; was originally intended as a government-mandated safety device to prevent the speaker from tipping over if a carpet monkey or earthquake were inclined to move the speaker.

Hanging the speaker entirely from the wall would not be recommended unless you've got a REALLY SUBSTANTIAL wall, AND you built a similarly-substantial bracket system. Overall, I don't see the point. I think it would be easy to reduce the sound quality, and difficult to improve it compared to floor-standing (on spikes if needed).

Yea, the bass brace was what is was thinking of. So far, I think I like it the best, right up against the wall.

One more question, I have them at about five feet apart. I can move them to another wall and have them at up to 12 feet apart and still able form a proper triangle. Do they generally sound "better" further apart?

From what I understand, SDA's like being on the long wall, so yes, I would at least try that and see how you like it. Currently, I have my SRS 2's about 6 ft apart and they sound great. I would like to try them in a bigger room however.

Ok, I'll give it a try. Could I ask you which spikes you bought? I would like the same thread size, so I can screw them right in without any mods. Thanks!

My local shop gave me some nice ones that they weren't using. I don't know what kind they are unfortunately but I can tell you I bought some spikes from Myesound for my Dads 1.2TL's, they are pricey but nice. Not sure if they still make them or not.

I would check out http://www.parts-express.com/ as they have plenty different spikes

I believe the you will need a 11/4"-20 thread for the stock inserts.
