I've been watching for a long time and have not seen any type of sale or discount on these. Are they that good, or are they willing to lose polk customers and share to competite brands? There are a ton of good deals available on premium speakers from Energy, JBL, B&W, Paradigm and others. I have 9 polk speakers between two systems, and have been happy with them. The RTIa line however has been around a very long time and MSRP seems a bit uncompetitive.

Not sure what the right places are. I only know that I am in the market for speakers in the RTIa 9 segment and polk is not competitive. I just bought an Anthem Integrated225 and will buy some speakers to match soon. Energy Veritas V6.3 and and B&W, JBL speakers are considerations.

    LOL!!

Have to agree here, the A9's seem to be compared to those speakers quite a bit. Price wise, they seem competitive:
    http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Veritas-V-6-3-3-Way-Speaker/dp/B005CFLR9Q
    http://www.amazon.com/Pair-Bowers-Wilkins-Floorstanding-Speaker/dp/B000XR8WQO/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1393654481&sr=1-2&keywords=b%26w+cm5

Energy, JBL, B&W and Paradigm all seem to have speaker series comparable to something in the Polk line between the RTi's and the LSiM's. Just depends how much you want to spend and what sound you want.

And if you don't think the RTi's aren't competitive why are you waiting around for a sale? You want a screaming deal or pleasing sound?

I have not seenRTIA9for less $1500/ pair. At that price, I have better options? Am I missing something? I have had decent success with polk, but to buy at MSRP for RTIa, I am willing to look elsewhere.

Well now I'm confused, either you have a reading impediment or are flat ignoring every post.

MSRP is $749.95 each, you were just given prices ranging from $360-500 each, with free shipping. Last time I checked 500<750.

Or we have a troll on our hands...and I'm bored...bad combination...
In either case, your search is over, here's your $500 A9'S:

Now I'm kind of starting to think you're ****ing with me.

    Check the seller:
    http://stores.ebay.com/Polk-Audio-Direct/_i.html?_nkw=rtia9&submit=Search&_sid=686154689

That's Polk's Official Ebay store. Notice their feedback, almost 23,000 and 99.8% positive:
    http://www.ebay.com/usr/polkaudio

And because I think you will ask, yes, there's even a warranty:
    http://www.polkaudio.com/support/warranty-service-and-returns#q9

My A9's have been thumping along for two years now and I bought them used, so about 4 years total. If you feed them good power and don't turn it up to 11 I'd say it's unlikely you'll ever need a warranty.

I do not have a reading problem. A lot of talk about buying these for $349-$500 each, but not one link to the source. I could tell you where to buy a $1,000 savings bond for $50, bit you would need to go through 100 posts to get there.

Actually those are. You can get the Rti's "new" from Polk still but those a9's are refurbed. I have only seen the a9's as low as $750 each new through online vendors that offer free shipping. I also wanted a9's but settled on Rti12 because I wanted new.

I bought my A9's from Polk's eBay store back in 08, if they were refurbished I would like to know where, they were delivered to me as if they were new. And if Polk did refurbish a flaw do you think they would do a ****ty job?

We are in 2014 and my A9's still look as they did when I got them, and I haven't had one issue.. Go ahead and be the fool, and spend more for the same quality that my so called refurbished ones are in..

No see, your A9's may have been new, Polk Ebay store has new and used offerings. Its usually listed in the condition category within the ad. I have no doubt that Polk does an excellent job with their refurbs. My Rti12's were "new" but at that time and at this point the A9's are available only as refurbished through Polk Direct. It was better for me to spend $800 on Rti12's than $1000 on refurbished Rtia9's. Given the warranty iirc is 5 years on new and 2 maybe 3 years on refurbished.
