I came in US about 13y ago!..I discovered POLK in pawn shop. The big SRS-SDA for 500$, SDA2 for 120$ (mint), monitor 11t for 120$, RT-3000 & cs-1000 for 700$ (I missed F-X 1000),RT-55I at 149$, rt 600 (x2) for 70 &100$, RT-1000P for 199$, RTI-100P for 299$, MONITOR7 for 35$....and 3 pair BOSE 10.2, 1 pair 2.2 (yes, they're all very good) for a total of around 550$.... Yes, POLK are a very nice sounding speakers and use all the same 6.5 driver (smart!)... I have to say, for HOME THEATER, the big SDA-SRS are the best, they sound so full and big and the SDA effect "open" more the surround effect!...The RT-5000 system is wonderfull but, yes, the SDA-SRS (7 channel with MONITOR 11t & SDA2) sound so huge than the RT-5000 can't match!... All are powered with EV power amp. EV P1200, P1201, P1202, (3)Q-66, Q44, (2) CP-2200 (for custom sub)... (Not all AMP are used)...I'am in heaven!...I was sometime in the IMAX at MOORE and found my POLK sounded better (cleaner)..By the way, I built a center Frankenpolk with 2 monitor7 and sub3000 drivers with 4 passives 6.5" from parts. it's a huge (62" wide) with 2 tweeter SL2500, 4 active 6.5" and 4 passive 6.5" and sound marvelous!... Also, I have to say, the RT-5000 system is one of the (big) best looking system ever on earth!...Satellites over sub is a genius configuration.

    Hello,
Welcome to Polk's audio forum. It's great to read of such spirited enthusiasm for vintage speakers. Since the enjoyment of fine audio equipment goes well with the enjoyment of great wine can you, as an Alsatian, recommend your favorite Riesling or Pinot Gris?
    Cheers, Ken

I had to remove the passive Nb2 and Nb7 (now "blank) to tame the pic aroud 120-180HZ of the center channel...Now the 2 single passive travel more (X-mass) and boost the sub-frequency (40-20HZ) like I want!...Set to "small" the center sound "BIG"!!!!!

Though i have some resrvations about multiple tweets and mids spread that far out in a center for my own tastes, your build looks very nice. The subs look nice too. i like the nesting table thing. Did you build the tables too or build the subs to match the tables you already had. Also, whats up with the bose cubes?

No problem! heard at 12 feet from the center, he is not so large, the passive work also "out of phase", all active driver make this speaker not "wider" than a CS-1000P. Multiple tweet are like all SDA. Sub is nice but I really want to have more $ to fit TC-SOUND drivers instead of I-PIPE (franckly not bad but need a excessive boost at 18-22HZ and no sound above 100HZ (hight cut begin at 60HZ at 24DB/octave))... Tables, just to fill the gap!...Bose cub is for my wife, wired to a Pioneer. (I discover something amazing about the sound of bose cubes!!!!????...explain later in a new tread in "speakers")
