Hooking up new HT system

I have recently started acquiring Polk Audio gear to complete my HT system. As of now, I have two Polk R40s fronts, a CS10 centre channel, RTi A3s for rear and a PSW10 subwoofer; using a Marantz SR 5003 for my receiver.

Coming from a DJ setup consisting of solely studio monitors, I am finding it a little difficult to hook everything up together. As I already know, the PSW10 doesn't have an LFE, only speaker level input and line in. I am wondering how I should hook up the subwoofer - should I use speaker wire, or use a Y adapter from line in to the subwoofer out or is there a left and right on the receiver as well that I could plug the line in on the subwoofer to.

I have just purchased speaker wire and banana plugs online, as I like the ease of plugging and unplugging, as opposed to the tradition bare wire way.

If anyone has any suggestions of tweaks/settings/ways to boost the performance of my system, I'm all ears!

    Good Morning,
    Welcome to Club Polk!
I originally did the Y adapter then I ended just using a single cable and plugged it into the left input.
And saw no difference in sound.
So I just ran a single cable from the my AVR preamp "subwoofer" output to the left input on the PSW10 until yesterday.
Just picked up the Polk 505. I did however like the PSW10 more for music. Hope this helps
    You will be happy!
    Cheers!

    quicksilvergts,

Thanks for the help...everything seems to be running smoothly!

I am always looking to upgrade, and the 505 did catch my attention, as it seems to be readily available anywhere online - with great reviews associated with it.

I guess for now, the PSW10 will be more than adequate, because I'd say I use my whole system for music 70% of the time.

    Thanks again!
