I have these old desktop speakers & I'm trying to use them on my laptop but when I plug them in the audio is low even though I have the volume to the max. Is there anything I can do?

Stupid question, but is the volume on the computer up? And the volume on the speakers?Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
Game Room 5.1.4: Denon AVR-X4200w; Sony UBP-x700; Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 mains, CLR-3000 center, StudioMonitor 350 surrounds, ProMonitor 800 atmos x4; Sub - Monoprice Monolith 15in THX Ultra

Are those "stand alone" POWERED computer speakers--do they have a VOLUME CONTROL? Or were they part of a 2.1 system where the volume control was on a cable and NOT on the speakers themselves. Because that would explain why your volume might be low?

Another dumb question but don't these have batteries? If so, have you checked them?

Hello,
Those were developed to be used with a specific H-P Pavilion computer that contained an amplified sound card. If you are using them with a non-amplified sound card there won't be any volume.
