Luxman Integrated ?

As some of you may have noticed I sold my Anthem pre2L to Conradicles/Eric and will sell the Belles 350a some day to a friend of mine.

So I am going buy something to replace them and am looking really hard at a IA. The IA will run with my Musical Fidelity A5 cdp and my SFGPD speakers. Naturally I am considering the MF A5 IA but may go a step farther. Is it farther or further? I think further but anyway.............I think I'll have to step up to something like the Luxman IA's to better the performance of the Belles/Anthem combo.

What do you guys/gals think?? I know it would be nice to demo components in my system but I'd have to travel too far unless I got lucky somehow and found something close. Not counting on that!!!

On another note LOL this thing of ours is crazy!! When I look back a half dozen years ago I was thinking about buying components that cost in the $300.00 each category. WTF did you guys do to me???

Thanks in advance for your support on this addiction.

I can't imagine how on earth you could go wrong with either the MF Integrated or this beautiful piece of equipment. I think your ears and your soul would go into orgasmic convulsions with one of these choices at the helm.

That Lux is darn Purdy. But....your giving up some horsepower there chief to the MF. As far as either being better than the Anthem/Belles combo....my guess is you'll give up some in top end and midrange bloom, but gain some sharper dynamics. Just my thought on it is all.

A MF A5 just popped up on the 'gon.

Fair price - not the best but fair.

    Killer IA.

Speaking of MF...why is that darn Tri-vista 300 still so much coin ? Really want one...maybe Jesse can chime in on the differences between the tri-vista 300 and A1008.

If you're referring to that one listed at Audiogon right now, I doubt he'll get that price.

I don't know all the differences as I haven't heard the A1008. Ask Troy, he's heard both and now owns the A1008. The Tri-Vista was a limited production IA using sub-miniature tubes with similar characteristics to the 12AX7 in the pre amp and is more powerful than the A1008. The A1008 uses 6922's I believe.

Luxman introduced the silver chassis in C-70F preamp and M-70F amp with meters in 2003. Now, who copies whom?

Skip this is from a picture.I know nothing of it's performance but on sheer looks I would give it a 9 in the bathing suit competition. Even higher end vintage Marantz are asking for and selling at very high prices. It's amost Mac meter eye candy but not really close. Me, I like black.

Who copied who is irrelevant. It looks cheap to me. I actually think the marantz looks classier than the luxman does. I like meters too, but I hate the integration of them in this situation.

Well, I can't say I like the Look on the Luxman Integrated but I dig for the C-70F and M-70F combo.

I have never heard anyone who said Luxman looks cheap in the past. You are the first.

Thanks Jess, already knew about the tube variations between the two. I'm just curious as the Tri-vista even at a good used price is more than a used 1008. Wondering if the pre amp stage is beefed up some in the newer model. One would assume so anyway.
