OHHHHH GOD and I went to church this morning too!! They played well that's all I have to say about that LOL
Regardless of this Olympics I really believe they shouldn't allow pro's to compete in the future Olympics.

I actually completely agree. Olympics are for amateurs, not professionals. IMHO, U20 teams should play in the Olympics instead of Pro's.
FTGV, having pro's to play is very much against the Olympics spirit. Now they are trying to push professional boxers into summer Olympics, which I think is just stupid.
We have to remember what the Olympics is all about. It's not about money, but in our commercial world, that's all the Olympic committees are trying to do. Remove wrestling and put golf/baseball/darts/whatever instead of it. Seriously?! That's one of the original Greek Olympics sports.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

While the Olympics aspires to many noble ideals of fairness, sportsmanship and making the world a better place, it is also about competition. It awards symbolic medals for first, second and third place. It is meant to be the best against the best. All this is part of the Olympic spirit. Whether one is professional or amateur is a matter of definition as the Eastern Europeans and Soviets proved in the past. We are well past that now.
I agree though that removing wrestling from the Olympics is absolutely ridiculous. As noted, it has been a core sport of the Olympics since its ancient beginnings.
I'd like to see a proof where USSR provided professional (i.e. money-making) athletes to the Games, as there were no real paid sports in that country, besides soccer and hockey (way way below NHL salaries).
IMHO, for hockey you'll never make it fair and square, as NHL owners will pull their players out of it most likely - they don't want to lose their players to injuries and not get compensated (and their team loses a major piece - i.e. Tavares).Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies
