So who here has first hand experience with B&W CDM-1s?

Since I am barred from having my RTA-15TLs in our bedroom, I have to "settle" for bookies. Granted, that opens a HUGE door but I would like to try out some other stuff.
I currently have my LSi9s in that system now but want to speaker roll. Hehe.

So who can give me some opinionations on the subject?

    Which variation?

the original CDM1 or one of the later variations?

    CDM1NT
    CDM1SE

I have the cdm nt1. Great sounding bookie but very revealing. Terrific mids and sparkling highs that can be quite forward with certain material.

I am probably going to hang on to my CDM 1nts for awhile. They are pretty easy to drive. They sound nice by themselves but benefit from a sub in the mix. You will get a true 60hz out of them. The line is about 13 - 14 years old and still hold about 50% of their msrp.

Epos 3.....great bedroom bookie. I like the CDMNT series from B&W, but that top end can wear on ya at higher volumes. But this is for a bedroom, how loud is it really going to be.

    I also have the CDM1NTs.

An analogy for how they sound would be a combination of the sparkle of the RTiA3 and the lush midrange of the LSi7....so a "Goldilock" combination in my book.

Drive them with a good amp and the revealing NT tweeter can be tamed giving some really really good sound.

I have no plans so far to change them out.

CDM1NTs are an amazing series which is one I miss. I installed them when they first came out and every single time was impressed. They tend to sound amazing on Proceed , Pioneer Elite, B&K and Rotel. I ran a pair of CDM9NT's off a Mar Levinson #383 Integrated and was blown away with the full room response.
I'd like to find a pair of 9NT's, I however didn't care for the CDM7NT's that much. They was pretty damn good but fell short next to a pair of amazing 9NT's.
