I think I've done every mechanical mod ever listed or suggested here. There are 2 others I believe that have been suggested and I have no interest in doing them. The 1st is internal wiring and I have no intention of rewiring and then doing the binding posts. Mine are not broken hold tight and do a fine job. I do know of the upgrades but for me the trade off is not a good one. So only the X-OVERS are left and they do need to be refreshed and this will happen. After that what, it's just sit back and enjoy the tunes or did I miss anything? Dynamat' ,Black-Hole 5', sealed seams',Neutriks base modules and sleeves for up graded I/C cable',new rdo 194s',spikes',removed poly switches for Mills 0.5',bleached and sanded tops then stained w/ dark walnut',
Larry's rings',Armacelled all gaskests', upgraded to 10gu Belden White spkr wire', cleaned w/ Original Windex all drivers and passives', and removed Pledge from fronts and cleaned them up. '= a check mark.

So besides re-wiring them internally and adding new binding posts (which you dont plan to do) and upgrading the crossovers (last mod left) below is a list of what you've done correct? (I thought I would relist the mod's in a easier to read fashion for everyone)
    • Dynamated drivers
    • Added Black-Hole 5 to cabinets
    • Sealed internal cabinet seams
    • Upgraded SDA cable with Neutriks base modules and sleeves
    • Upgraded tweeters to RDO 194s
    • Added Spikes
    • Removed poly switches for Mills 0.5
    • Bleached and sanded tops then stained w/ dark walnut
    • Larry's rings to all drivers
    • Replaced original gaskets with Armacell
    • Upgraded to 10gu Belden White spkr wire
    • Cleaned all drivers and passives w/ Original Windex
    • Removed Pledge (think you mean badges) from fronts and cleaned them up.

Your right the way you laid it out looks a hundred times better and clearly easier to read. About the fronts I sprayed a rag w/ Pledge and then thought I was shining up the front boards, I call them motor boards, Jesse calls them bezels but it's the black MDF surface that the speakers are installed into.I got hammered for using Pledge because it contains silicone and leaves a residue.Who knew? The badges are shiney enough I did not touch them.

After your XO's you have two options...

    -Enjoy

    Or

-Move on to the next set of speakers you want to tinker with

Either way, enjoy the tunes LW!

So, I'm very close to finishing these up and I'm already enjoying them. 2 Polks that intrigue me are the Monitor 10s and the12s w/ that out of body tweeter array. It's common place now but back then I'm sure people were just shaking their collective heads and saying that's going to break off real quick and how much of a difference can that make. Now you see all the high end makers do it. I thought B&W were the 1st but I was off by quite a few years.

Lew, other than the Crossovers, about the only left would be new acoustically transparent Grill Cloth. Your 2Bs would be more of a hassle than my 2As were, due to the need to remove and cover the side panels as well.
As for your future purchases, both are fine speakers, however the Monitor 10s will not go as low as your 2Bs that you're used to now, the RTA 12s will. You'll want the later C revision, unless you want to deal with Peerless tweeters. Note, the earliest RTA 12s had a one piece crossover. All components were mounted on top. The later versions had two piece crossovers so each woofer received a slightly different signal. Finding an RTA 12 with an intact top hat might be problematic as well since they're relatively fragile.
Whichever you choose, most of the same upgrades you've done with your 2Bs will apply, except for the Interconnect Cable obviously..

Lew, You just need to save the funds and get those x-overs rebuilt. All the upgrades and mods you have done so far all add to the presentation, but, the x-over upgrades are the most noticeable of all, at least to my ears.

After reading this I don't know which Polk's you have. Maybe I missed something. Nice upgrades and at sometime it's just time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
