Any refoam (rubber) available for MW7203 woofers? RT55I bass driver to be exact.

I have had a ton of Polks come through my door and just got my hands on a REALLY FUN kit! Probably some of the most impressive for their size, in all the speakers I have ever come across. Beautiful set of RT55I's, RT35I's and a CS4001 Center to boot! Me likes! BIG sound from these guys!!!!

However, this is really weird..... one woofer in the RT55I has HARD FOAM RUBBER? I thought the woofer was seized at the voice coil lever. For some reason, I never thought to touch the foam while fondling the woofer... I removed the woofer and held it in my hands while pressing the cone in equally, inward, to see it the coil would give and then all of the sudden... POP!!!!! The rubber surround broke, perfectly as if I took a razor blade and sliced around the rubber in a round circle. All of the other drivers have normal rubber, but this one was as hard as molded plastic. Weird....

To be honest the speaker actually sounded pretty good with the seized woofer, with the single working driver driving the bass. Was not expecting that.

So, are there any rubber replacement kits????????? I did find a MW7202 replacement woofer on ebay for %60 but I don't want to spend that. I would rather repair than replace.

THANKS!

Buy the one on eBay quick before someone else does. There are no replacement surrounds available, which is the reason someone used whatever they could find and hence your current problem. $60.00 is nothing to get your speaker working again.

Yea, you're probably right.... I think I'll get the RT800 driver on ebay. It should do the trick. Thanks for the heads up about the foam replacement. Take care friend! :)
