Some advice please.

I saw a something I want to buy on Audio Mart but the seller has no history that I can see. We have exchanged a few emails and he will guarantee the equipment to work properly or my money back. I'm new to Audio Mart and not sure what to do. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with Audio Mart? I want to pay with PayPal.

No experience with Audio Mart except looking, but paypal does provide some good protections no matter the site.

    Thanks guys.

Is there a way to determine if the seller has a rating?

As long as you use paypal you DO have some protection as a buyer. Forget what it looks like as I haven't had to use it, but I would make sure to use PayPal.

I haven't bought anything there, tried to sell a few things, but no bites.

Well the seller can't use payPal.

To quote him "I suffered a hacker, and was implicated in the illegal trade in them, and now I have to provide proof, wait PAYPAL verification and inspection, and now, I can not accept PAYPAL.
    now only bank transfer."

This sounds way to risky for me.

If the seller cannot accept paypal and does not have any rating, then move along for sure. US Audio Mart is the new 'extension' for canuckaudiomart , that's why many people don't have a seller's rating there yet. So your only protection would be paying via paypal.

Yep....move along. I would only send a bank transfer to someone I knew personally, and obviously that's not the case.

Maybe he should send me the equipment and after I receive it I then send him the money transfer.

Think he would go for that?

Hey, isn't that the same guy who's boss overlooked an armored car delivery to the bank of $68,000,000 USD and now he needs help getting it out of his country, for a small fee of only $1500 paid up-front by a bank transfer to some country you've never heard of? Just look at the risk/reward.....I say go for it! What could possibly go wrong? ;^)

The thing I don't understand is this is uncommon equipment. If I were a scam artist I would try to sell more common equipment that appealed to a wider audience. But what do I know? He was very knowledgeable through a few emails about the equipment.

    Anyway time to move on.

    Thanks for your advice.
