I didnt see it (no contacts)

My thoughts on the half time was lame.........no talent.............

Although, We were watching the game with about 5 or so 5-10 years olds. All the moms were there also and were outraged. Everyone was puzzled at what happened. But after seeing the POS halftime show act, it makes sense...........

I mean that was one of the WORST halftime shows I have seen in my 5 or so years of watching the superbowl! Suit me fine if MTV never does it again. BLEH!

Janet and Timberlake will catch lots of flak for this, as will MoneyTV and CBS. What will they show next? Stay tuned..give them ratings. As for Janet and Timberlake..any publicity is good publicity, they will laugh all the way to the bank.

well, i work for a CBS affil TV station. Our general manager has been busy all day answering calls from angry people. It's not our fault here at the local level. BUT, people have the right to voice their disappointment over the whole thing.

I place the blame on Janet, Justin and MTV. I think other artists would have done something just as shocking given the chance. Don't you think Madonna would have done something shocking too if she was the half time show?? I think so.

I guess the FCC is going to come down hard on this one. Not sure who will be fined the most.. prob CBS and MTV. what do you want to bet next year the half time show is someone like Wayne Newton or Tony Bennett?? :D

As a parent I'm really glad we were not watching the half time show. This type of trash has no place on TV. If you want to see T & A, rent a video, change the channel to one of the **** channels, find it on the net, but it has absolutly no place on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, WB, or PBS! I guess we shouldn't be surprised by anything that anyone of the Jackson Freaks pull.

I understand the dilemma I have two girls age 3 and 4 and to be honest I don’t think it was that bad. Let’s be honest if you raise a child and that is the worst thing that they experience its not that bad. You can’t shelter them from every little thing you can only try to show them what is right or wrong. That incident will not scar or mark any one for life do not blame the media the artist or athletes that your kid is screwed up. We all have way more influence on our children and we should take the reasonability for what it is and not place blame on why our 14 year old daughter is a pregnant crack smoking ****. Just my 2 cents.

you're right, but i feel it goes beyond that. there needs to be a decorum in our society and young so-called icons pulling off women's tops isn't acceptable. it sends the wrong message. as i said i don't think anyone is truly offended about the breast. it's all of the issues surrounding it and the message it sends. to me it's just the cheapest no talent crap.

also, for justin. if he didn't do it shouldn't he be charged with some kind of sex crime? it's amazing how their story keeps changing to protect themselves.

I was not personally offended, but then again I have no children, thus make no adjustements to accomodate them in any way. I do however think that it was not the appropriate venue to be making a "risky" gesture as was displayed.

    Is it ever ok?

All I know is that I think it could have been a little different had it been on a late night show....or some other smaller children demographic program than the Super Bowl. It makes no difference who knew or didn't know, it was done.

I like how so many people, not talking about anyone here, have jumped on the bandwagon of high morality. I believe someone stated earlier that there are much more questionable things that are displayed on a REGULAR basis. I don't see the FCC investigating them....nor thousands of outraged "parents" calling....nor what will end up being an news event that will go on and on and on.

Get off the soapbox America, get over it. All the parties involved have damaged themselves, and may end up getting FCC fined. A fine that will make not a ripple in any of the bank accounts involved....THAT would make me more angry then seeing a breast.

The boob shot, though obvious, was not on the air but for a blink of the eye. Fortunately for me, my daughter was not watching at the time, and even I had to wonder, "did I see what I thought I saw?" The thing that irks me more than the flopping breast, was that the two "entertainers" failed to take ownership for their actions. Explaining it away as an accident or a costume problem when it was obviously a blatant act, is irresponsible. If it wasn't planned, why the hell would she be wearing a pastie to hide her nipple!? No, it was fully intentional, and the two offending parties should own up to it and take their lumps.

(Personally, I think this was just Janet's way of dispelling rumors that she and Michael are actually the same person! Let's show em some breast 'cause showing a lack of balls wouldn't prove anything!)

OH! And another thing! All this hue and cry over one boob, and not a word about the boob desecrating the American Flag? Kid Rock is the one who should be apologizing, or making excuses about the wardrobe department not telling him it is not appropriate to make a garment out of the American flag.

bottom line is you can't show any full shots of naked **** on network television.

no ****, no penises, and no dirty words.. although this is getting more relaxed all the time.

Some people were offended, and others were not. BUt the FCC says you can't show such things in primetime or late night.

Cable TV has more flexability as to what they can show. The reason behind that is that it's "television" you have to subscribe to.. and not free tv over the air which is available to all viewers, even children.

the funny thing about everyone getting so pissed off about what happened and making a big deal about it is that it is EXACTLY what the people responsible for this WANT.

Janet, Justin, Mtv... all playing the public like a fiddle and the ignorant masses are all too happy to oblige.

I think it was inappropriate and thought the whole half time show was lacking in any quality. Did anyone watch the Lingere Bowl?

I did see where TIVO reported the Janet Jackson clip was the most replayed by suscribers ever, so there you go.

Whatever happened to something wholesome, patriotic, and cool like the Marine Corps marching band doing a show?

Or the 3 best high school cheerleading squads getting to show their stuff.

Anything but the trash the half-time show has been reduced to. I'm embarrassed to watch it actually. It's total MTV rapper CRAP.

I understand your point, however those two no talent, lying bozo's are not going to increase their record sales after this crap and MTV shot itself in the foot. They say there is always something good that comes from bad things and in this case that means NO more MTV crapper acts at halftime Super Bowl shows. The Doc is right, it would be nice to get back to the type of entertainment more appropriate for the venue.

Much worse is shown in everyday news reports or on TV shows. Yet the site of a partial boob for a split second raises so much hell. Give me a ****'n break.

A violent sport, with half naked cheerleaders, the visuals of coaches cussing and the split second viewing of a partial covered boob is inapproiate? Hardly. From what I've heard from others, it was so fast, most had to question or replay to see if what they saw was actually what they thought it was.

My point: For what this actually was, it's being WAY overblown.

Football is what it is, people watch well aware of what it is. However, the classless and crass halftime show has no place on public TV. I have nothing against nudity/**** in the appropriate venue. The Super Bowl isn't the right place and that is the point Americans are making.

yea, ive been thinkin about this all day, it's a human body to all of us adults and matured teenagers (like myself). but then i watch the Chappelle Show (spelling?) and the man is having them skits where he is sayin that n word over and over. Eventhough it airs at 9:30 here i'd much rather have my kid runnin around talkin about a **** being exposed than goin to school and saying the n word. But what the hell do i know? Entertainment is unfortunately in a downward spiral.

the chappelle show probably is much worse for kids, but the main argument here is that it was done on broadcast tv, not cable (comedy central).

the standards for broadcast tv are different than cable.

yeah that's what it is entertainment. the networks and cable tv shows are only giving us what we will watch.. if we didn't watch it... the ratings would go down. and it would be taken off the air.

Why do you think all the networks each have a half dozen of those reality shows? The American viewers say they want to see them. You or I may not like them.. but enough people appearantly do.

you as the viewer have the ultimate choice.. don't watch what offends you. turn off the boob tube. appropriately named now huh? :p
