There isn't suppose to be any towards the bottom. It should only be behind the tweeter and mid-drivers.

If this is the first pair of vintage Polks you've opened up, you may think the Dacron Batting should fill the entire cabinet. You may have one cabinet with nothing in the bottom section, and the other has Batting. If one cabinet has Batting in the bottom, it's because it slipped down. The Batting should only be in the upper half behind the woofers and tweeter, no lower than the top of the 1st PR opening. Tack the batting in place on either side with 1/4" staples, to keep it from sliding down.

the dacron batting was remove and replace with 2 inchpolyfill behind tweeter and mid woofer, also the crossover has been upgraded with clarity capacitor

If you got those at a good price and you didn't do the crossover upgrades, that was really a score! The clarity caps get lots of love around here. They can go from middle-of-the-road priced to over-the-top priced depending on which line they're from.

    Were the tweeters upgraded too?

    How do they sound?
