Receiver upgrade help

I'm thinking about upgrading from my denon 1909. I'm looking at the x4000 and it looks great. How much of a noticeable difference will there be? I think my setup is in my sig, it's been a long time since I've been on here so I'm not sure if it's still there it not.
Polk rti a5
Csi a4
Fxi a6
Svs pb13 ultra
I'm only running a 5.1 now but would like to add height channels.
Also are there any other receivers I should consider in that price range. The multeq xt32 is really the main selling point for me on the x4000 along with the decent amp and I have no experience with any other room correction systems except audyssey.
Any help would be great and if you suggest another brand would you please explain why it would be a better choice then the denon.
I should add I'm probably 40% music 50% gaming 10% movies. Music though is where I want the best sound if I have to choose but the addition of height speakers would be nice for gaming.

With the speakers you own I suggest a Pioneer Elite SC-72. Go check it out

I always wanted a pioneer but I've been afraid of them not helping to correct the sub. My room needs a bunch of help with the sub.Denon 1909, want to upgrade for pre outs

I've heard nothing but positive thing about XT32. I'm considering upgrading to it myself. Another route would be ARC in the Anthem MRX receivers. Never heard a bad thing about em either.Display: LG 47" LCD | AVR: Marantz SR5005 | BD: Panasonic BDT-210 | CD/SACD: Oppo 980 |

Personally I am a fan of an external amp. Even an older, used 5 channel amp will outshine most AVR's internal amp. Those speakers will like more power (not talking volume here). Even if you drive only the L&R channels with a 2 channel amp and handle the other speakers via the AVR then it would be better. An external amp may make a better sound improvement overall.

I looked at the x4000 but went with the Marantz SR7008 because its more musical. If you go with the x4000 you'll hear a big difference because of the multEQ xt32. MultEQ xt32 is a big improvement!Anaheim Hills CA,

I like the Marantz receivers better than the newest Denons primarily due to build quality.

Accessories4less has the x4000 for a pretty good price. I went ahead and ordered one. I'm just really wanting to try the xt32 out. I couldn't find anything even close to the $900 price accessories had these for. Any other brand with similar power or features was much much higher in price. I should get it Monday and hopefully like it. I've already got my 1909 sold. They said they would pick it up as soon as I will let them have it.Denon 1909, want to upgrade for pre outs
