Not surprising, and I thought it could have been worse if not for the Pats playing crap special teams. I figured the difference would be Brady having the experience and just being a better quarterback, but Delhomme acquitted himself well. Hell of a ballgame.

    Great game...

Highly dissapointed in the Panthers performance through out. One of the worst games they played all season. Hopefully they can prove theirselves again next season.

    Congrats to the Pats!

    I agree with you Troy.

Fact is, Panthers played way under what they could have. I have watched every game this season, and that was one of the worst games they played honestly. I would just love to see how it would turn out if the Panthers played top notch. I have a feeling we would be celebrating differently.

However, we did not. We played great in the 4th quarter. Which was enough to come back and tie it up. Oh well.

    Congrats to the Pats!

It was a good game, I don't know that I would call it great.

A GREAT game doesn't go through 12 possesions before a score is made. Panthers played good, the coaches made some REAL stupid decisions though, and I believe THEY lost the game (or at least the tie), not the players.

On another note, the only person that should have gone for two in this game was Justin Timberlake.

    Cheers,
    Russ

There's a reason they didn't play as well as you thought they should have, Sid. That's because the Patriots are a better team, a team that just won 15 effin straight games in the friggin NFL. A team that's won 2 of 3 super bowls in the free agent era. A team with the best coach in football, and a team with a superior quarterback. Do you think New England played it's best game of the year? No, probably not. And in the end the better team won, the team that most people thought would win, the team I said would win it several weeks ago.

    L&C, you're missing the point.

Players they normally do well (IE: Kasay, the Line, Jake, Corners)

They weren't in their spots when they needed to be, they made bad judgements, the field was terrible. Several things happened because of slipping players,

Just several things like Mumamid(sp) when he dropped that ball that very well costed them the game...................................just things that they normally do not do.

They were equally matched teams. We all knew when watching that mistakes would win this game. Very well - they did.

It's over now.......Next year we shall wait!

Was a great game! I agree.......just I didnt want the team that won to win......

I think we will go back....if not next year, sometime close to that.

This has been the first season I have watched every game and the Panthers put on quite a show. They arnt the best. But they have the most heart out of any team I have seen. Atleast we lost playing our guts out.........couldnt ask for it any other way!

yeah, don't feel bad sid. in all honesty they played better than i thought they would. there is nothing to be ashamed of there and delhomme was the more impressive quarterback.

Yeah -- Well truly the offense finally woke up in the second half. Then the defense went to sleep. Oh well, maybe next year....

I think it's just funny how all the Eagles, Pats, and Bucs fans are literally storming the Panthers message board. I mean literally just belittling(sp) the Panther fans for losing.......

Sid, do you think it's POSSIBLE that the Panthers offense was just maybe bested a bit by the best defense in football?

Do you think it's POSSIBLE that thier defense was maybe a little outgunned by one of the most balanced and complete offenses WITH a great execution QB and the best X's and O's coach in football?

NE hasn't been known to blow out teams, they just do what they need to to win.

Panthers played a great game but were beaten by a better team.

Did you even watch the game? I mean really......

    What a terrible reply

A better team? Please.......a very well matched team. Mistakes got us, thats the final word on it. We made mistakes and that is what killed us and finished us off.

PS: Tom Brady said it himself. That was the best team they faced all year.

I don't think there is a "we" or "us" in any team that one is not a part of. :)

Great game, I enjoyed every minute.

Gee Sid, the Patriots DID manage to win 15 games in a row. I think that you might consider that they've done a few things right here and there.

What does that have to do with the Super Bowl?

They made it, and the Panthers stayed in there and was an evenly matched team. If anything Jake was FAR more impressive than Brady if you ask me. I just dont see it in the Patriots.

Patriots made their own mistakes too, two missed field goals and Brady threw a terrible pass in the endzone that was intercepted otherwise it would not have been that close.

Panthers caught numerous big breaks in the game, notably the play where Law caused a fumble by submarining a Panther receiver who fumbled the ball which was recovered and could have been returned for a touchdown ... the play was ruled an incomplete pass, erroneously. Adam V. missed a field goal and had one blocked, huge plays that could have gone the other way.

Brady outplayed by Delhomme? That would be incorrect.

    lol.....yall are to funny

My entire point is not for me to be right, I'm just tired of these elitest fans that think their Pats are golden tablets.....bleh

Ah man, we went to a Panthers stan to get some t-shirts and such before the game.........and they had a eagles hat. We were about to buy it to take outside and burn on a stick......but decided that would be stupid considering it was leather and expensive......

Pats deserve the win, we lost the game, I understand

Anyways, Preamp is on its way to my Dads - hopefully I will have music tonight. So while you buy your T-Shirt. I will jam to music! :D

    Eliteist fan?

How do you figure? NE had a BETTER record (arguably against better teams), statistically outperformed the Panthers and ultimately won.

Won? How about the game? The game I watched, NE won.

Near as I can tell, the Pats also led in about every statistical category.

    Oh, THAT gathering.

By invitation only. Didn't you see that post?

You can translate that to mean: tread lightly and don't piss me off. ;)

Oh, and what statistical categories did the Panthers dominate the Pats in ? (never mind the most important one, final score)
