Silver Mica on RTA 12c

If one was to remove the silver mica on an RTA12C what would be the result?? Brighter?? If one did that and did not have the silver mica to reinstall what could one use in its place?? thanks

The Silver Micas were used as bypass caps to improve the sound of the Mylars. They are no longer needed with quality Metalized Polypropylenes. If you remove them, and leave the Mylar caps, I would guess you'd loose some detail, and they may sound duller than when the micas were in the circuit.Home Theater/2 Channel:

When I rebuilt my RTA 12C's I got rid of them and didn't compensate for their value, which is very small. I used all Sonicaps in both upper and lower Xovers and have never looked back.
