I like to upgrade my HTPC which has 2 1.5t hdds one for movies and the other is partitioned for TV shows and 200gig for C:/windows which I like to replace with a SDD but surprised it using 200gig right now. There's nothing installed other then anydvd and video drivers. Do I really need a 240gig sdd for windows 7?

I could do a OS and a data drive 250g or another 1.5t drive but love just one big C:\ drive thing, so maybe the 240g sdd after all.

Would a Hybrid hdd work better for me?

Ok I'm just afraid I don't have a large enough drive, but yes 240g should work now.

The newer Samsung SSD's come with great software for coping over your current OS/main drive."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I would use another OS disk which I used before Windows 7 home 32bit and not Windows Ultimate which doesn't work so great for me. So in the end new OS installing.

I've got a SSD set up solely for my OS, and then everything else ends up on a 2TB HDD drive for programs. I also have 3 other 2TB hDDs installed for media files (pictures, movies, music, etc.)
You can partition your drives so that C: (SSD) is only for your OS, and (one of our HDDs) is where all the program installs go. You just have to make sure to change C: to when installing games, software, etc. I can dig up my "how to" in regards to that partitioning if you think it would be useful.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

Cant hurt, I'd say post it anyway."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I run an 80gb ssd on my Win7 media center. It also has adobe creative suite and office suite. No issues. Check to see if you are storing any content on the SSD that should be put on another drive. For example, the "My Videos" "My Pictures" etc... remap those to a secondary drive

I have a 64 gig SSD for my HTPC. More than enough for the OS and the few programs that are on it. Move you Page/Swap file to an alternate drive. Move all your personal folders, photos etc. to another drive as well. Point or re-map them. Also limit the size of space allocated to restore pointsHome Theater/2 Channel:

I cannot for the life of me find that PDF. I did run across this link, which I think runs through it pretty much the same way:
