They look pretty minty, and i do love the infinity sound.

Recapping cost would have to be considered here.

Also, I know the emit and emim drivers can get brittle, is it very obvious in a pic?, some appear very smooth, some have a little waviness on the front.

I know a tryout would tell a lot, but its halfway across the state.

Any advice, as always is appreciated.

Pics didn't post. I can tell you the crossovers are point to point, a PITA to rebuild, and expensive if you go all film caps. There's some very large value NP Electrolytics. There are also two Pots that will need to be taken apart and cleaned. They're odd values, so replacements aren't available.

My bad, I read your question wrong. The RS from that era are classics, in looks and sound. They were always on my dream list back then. As I said though, the crossovers are a PITA, very complex, and expensive to upgrade. They do have quite a following though.

I have RSIIIa's and they sound spectacular to me. The EMITs are probably the best tweeters I've ever heard.

There is another pair of RSIIa's for sale on Atl CL with servo sub for $1850. I would think that price is not far off. But I am not positive. I would love to have them myself!

I recently purchased a pair of Infinity RS-IIb speakers, with equalizer, for approximately the price you are looking at. If the speakers you are looking at include the equalizer and all drivers work properly - I believe the price is more than reasonable. In my opinion - they are a very nice sounding speaker.

Might be a little high on the $1850 price, but the set does look very nice!

I would offer $1500. Well if I had $1500 to offer that is. Now IF....I was single....I would borrow against my life insurance policy and be on the way to Atlanta. My wife would nut the hail up if I did that now though.
