The tweeters have a certain RDO/ SL3k look to them, though the color is off just a bit... Silk Domes?

Does Polk contracted Fisher Price to design these things? ;-)Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

I would definitely be interested in hearing what they sound like. To me personally, coming up with a complimentary subwoofer for nearfield monitor or occasional bookshelf use is a waste of Polk's time and energy. For music, I have never in my life heard a desktop system with a subwoofer sitting on the floor that sounded musical and well integrated, and I have heard a few speakers, both active and passive that sounded more than adequate on their own down into the bass range. The only spec that is somewhat disappointing to me is the bitrate on the USB connection. I don't think I've seen a USB 2.0 interface that wouldn't handle 24/96. I'm not really familiar with the idea of a DACless PWM amplififer, but Googled and found this to be a pretty compelling reason to give it a try: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/nuforce-dda-100-integrated-amplifier-1/

Surprisingly, the klipsch promedia 2.1 package sounds pretty damn good. Although I may be giving it undue praise as a result of having heard some really poor, one-thud computer subwoofer designs in the past.
Anyhow, I don't doubt for a second that these Polk computer speakers will sound excellent. Black should probably be an option, as they don't stand out and blend with everything. Yeah, they need to be available in black.

Do you like vocals coming from your sub?
I have not heard them in my home, but I have heard a properly est up demo that did not have that problem. The Gear... My desktop setup blends pretty well except I run the subwoofer pretty hot... because... well I can and I use it a lot for dubstep and techno.
If I could get my ears on these monitors and they were available in a Ford Model T color I would maybe consider swapping my M Audio monitors for them.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
