23 ADULT TRUTHS******
o, so true.
The story at the end is the greatest!
1 Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? (With lots of practice.)
6. Was learning cursive really necessary? (No and neither was shorthand.)
7. Map Quest or Google Maps really need to start their directions on # 5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind-of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection...again.
13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any givenFriday orSaturday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than Kay.
17. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.
18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
19. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?
20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I’d bet
everyone can find and push thesnooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
23. The first testicular guard, the “Cup,” was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Ladies.....Quit Laughing.

It just gets better as you get older doesn’t it?

I was in a Starbucks Coffee recently when my stomach started rumbling and I realized that I desperately needed to ****. The place was packed but the music was really loud so to get relief and reduce embarrassment I timed my farts to the beat of the music. After a couple of songs I started to feel much better. I finished my coffee and noticed that everyone was staring at me…. I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my Ipod (with ear piece) …….. and how was your day?
This is what happens when old people start using technology!

Great post Mike! I've done the watch thing many times. lol (especially as I get older, hmmmm). And folding fitted sheets rates up there with gift wrapping, there both some sort of cruel women's joke. At least men hve over come one of those two with the invention of the "gift bag".

Adult truths.....that only adults....older adults, can appreciate. I can add about 30 pages to that, but nothing any older adult hasn't already realized. Trick is...how to convey all that to youngsters who will no doubt make the same realizations eventually.

Haven't worn a watch in 40 years, no need. Plus I'm not a clock watcher anyway. Pretty simple really, when the Sun comes up, I'm late for work. When the Sun hits mid point....lunch. When it starts to go down.....time to go home.

OUTSTANDING post Mike, thanks! I particularly love #23, and yes I'm STILL laughing! BTW my idea of folding a fitted sheet is to roll it up into a flat kind of ball so that I can get it into my linen closet.

For years I've tried to follow a simple rule of etiquette about wearing a watch:

"A gentleman never wears a watch to dinner."

The exercise of Rule #1 leads to make others at dinner think you are bored, so you keep looking at your watch -- anxious to get out of their company.

As we get older, we should treat all life as "dinner," if not dessert!

#17 on that list is so true. In 2012 I traveled to Alton IL to pick up a Klipsch Sub for my HT. I live in SE MO so... I-55 through St. Louis to US 67 right? No GPS gave me a "shortcut". Found myself on North Broadway looking for Halls Ferry rd. Felt like Clark Griswald.

Glad you enjoyed, we used to have a very nice lady help clean the house years ago, she would also do laundry. She could fold a fitted, king size sheet, and you couldn't tell it from a folded top sheet. Damn, I miss her!

Great Post Mike. I actually know how to fold a fitted sheet. I was taught by my ex-mother-in-law, who was right off the boat from Palermo.

IMO, that's a lot like asking why people still listen to Vinyl or even physical media at all anymore. Digital stuff is available everywhere at the push of a button.

But if you appreciate quality, MP3 is not going to cut it.

For me, the watch you wear says something about you. A well made nice looking watch is a staple IMO. I feel naked if I don't have a watch on.
