After taking a closer look it seems ill be needing a complete plate. The old one would still work it just looks like the previous owner attempted to solder something on there and got it too hot. oh well , any clues on where to get a replacement plate ? could I contact polk and get a replacement?
The plate is the back of a large spool which the Lo-Pass Inductor is wound around. You can't replace just the back plate. It sounds like the previous owner tried soldering the broken piece back on, without removing the post, thereby partially melting the plastic.
If they were mine, I'd opt for some after-market binding posts with a larger diameter collar. Remove the old posts, drill-out and enlarge the holes. This would hopefully get you past any melted or deformed area in the plastic. You don't have to spend a lot either. Cardas or Vampire Binding Posts are high-end, but expensive. If you don't mind buying imported, I can recommend some alternatives that are excellent quality, and won't break the bank.

Yeah definitely , what would you recommend I buy and where ? I don't mind spending money to get them looking better as I might keep these and turn them into a project

I doubt they've had mods done given your description, and there are some things you can do that will take them up several levels. Glad you're enjoying them.

What exactly could I do ? I found some info on some people doing the "TL" mod .

I was considering just replacing the current crossover with same but newer hardware.

drumminman is referring to the multitude of upgrades that can be done to the Crossovers, Woofers/PRs, new Tweeters and the cabinets as well.
