Hypothetical - adding bookshelf complements to RTi10's

Currently I am using some Monoprice 14g speaker wire. The wires are about 6 feet and I am using banana plugs. I should invest in shorter interconnects between the pre-outs on my Pioneer VSX-9040 and the NAD 2400. I was thinking of maybe just messing around with the built in equalizer in the pioneer and have a setting for low volumes where I boost the lows and mids up a bit in the EQ. In Pure Direct mode on the receiver, the sub isn't running as far as I can tell, but I could use another AVR mode and drive the fronts with the sub for listening to music. Also, I have the metal jumpers still in the speaker posts on RTI10s, not sure if putting speaker wire there instead will make a difference or not. One other thing I tried was bridging the NAD to run one RTi10 to see if the speaker sounded different than when it was in regular mode. It just seemed a bit louder at the same volume control level on the pioneer, but the sound didn't seem any better.lsim705,lsim706c,lsif/x(4)+mc80(atmos)
