This is just a heads up for Dared SL2000A owners in the forum that I will be selling off much of my 12AT7/ECC81 and variant tubes that were used in the DARED SL2000A.

I am currently working with another Polkie on the sale of my Dared SL2000A so that is in the works and if it falls through I will post it here. I am going to hang on to some of my 12AT7/ECC81 tubes for a rainy day, but I will have plenty of great tubes for sale shortly.

Thanks

H9

5692 is the red base ruggedized version of the 6SN7. Nothing to do with the Dared. Did you mean 5965?

nope just asking is all. I don't know what all you have in your stash just tossing it out there.
Although I'm very new to this not all 5962 have a red base. As I understand the red base is the one to die for but I just have chump change for now. I just would like to try a 5962 triple mica to see what it is all about. Ive read were some have sold off all there red base RCA 5962's for Sophie Electric new stock 6sn7 and say they run circles around the NOS 5962's. I won't know until I try both as to which is better.

Shot you a PM earlier. Currently have Daboyz rig in transit with the Tungsram rectifier and NOS RCA square getter offset blackplates "winged" tubes that originally came from George Daniels. If you have any recommendations shoot them my way, if you think that anything replacing these would have diminishing returns then no big deal, I'm perfectly content to be happy with what I have if there isn't a revolutionary upgrade path.

I have an amp that uses 6SL7's so I do have a couple pairs of 5691's, which are cousins to the 5692 they look the same, just different operating specs. Same assembly, same super rugged build. Sound great and last forever. IIRC, RCA was the only company to produce 5691 and 5692's all others are just rebranded.

Well you know I'm a rookie learning and I'm willing to try just not sure how they well react to the buffer....talk to me buddy I'm all ears..

nice to know about the re-branding on those tube numbers. I thought I remember you saying that wasn't sure.

Ok Dared SL2000A owners here's what I am selling from my stash. Price are firm and include shipping and Paypal fee's.

    Rectifiers:

    (1) 1950's - Brimar CV1863 (5Z4G) British Military - STC Footscray production - Original box - ANOS (about 25 hours of use) $55
    (1) 1959 - Bendix Jan CEA 6106 (5Y3GT) Bendix Aviation built like a tank - Best 5Y3GT ever made. Original box - Strong and will last forever $40

    Tube Pairs:

1959 & 1960 - Amperex Bugle Boy ECC81 - Long arm "D" getter w/foil strip - made in Holland (Tk1-<9K & Tk2-<0E) labels in vg shape - These are the Amperex to get; these came well matched and were my back-up pair so I used them very little - $55

1969 & 1969 - Valvo ECC81 - Halo getter - gray plate w/3 side holes - Made at the Blackburn (Mullard - Vf3-B9xx) plant same as Mullard CV455 - These exhibit the classic Mullard sound - strong $45

1959 & 1959 - Sylvania JHS 12AT7WA gold brand - 3 mica -gray plate w/angled square getter. Quite possibly the best sounding American 12AT7 - Came as NOS to me and were my back-up $35

    1968 & 1970 - Valvo 6201 Hamburg (falcon logo-Military) - 2 mica gray plate - gold pins and solid disc getter (Df6-D0K9 & Df6-D8I4) -very rare pair -ANOS, again a backup pair $100

I might add more as I narrow down my stash even more. Please post interest here or PM me. Feel free to ask questions

    Thanks for looking.

Those 2 rectifiers are the best you can get for the Dared.

Hey Brock, what are you going to use after the Dared?
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

George is right. About a month ago I bought an Eastern Electric Mini Max tube per. So far I love it!

I am keeping some ECC81/12at7's in my stash for possible future use as well as a Brimar rectifier.

What about the Valvo's made by Mullard in the Blackburn factory I have listed? Do you have a pair of Mullards already? I'll check and see what else I might have to let go.

There are two sets of Valvo marked tubes. The Valvo (Hamburg made) 6201's are $old. But the other Valvo labeled tubes (made by Mullard in Blackburn) are available. So I assume you want the Valvo (Mullards)?

Just say so, and they are yours. I'll PM you my paypal info and if you pay today I can ship them out tomorrow with some other tubes since I'm going to the P O.

    Thanks - H9
