Happy New Year Everyone, I just finished up a pair of 2.3's. I gave them a new look and I really like the way they have turned out.

I've always liked the look of the trim pieces on my 3.1's, while I had the side panels removed to replace the cloth, I decided to make some new trim.

Those look terrific, Mike. A job well done!

What's with the hoarding, though? ;-) An impressive collection - do you have all five pairs of SDAs in use? Are they all in the same kind of condition as the 2.3s?

I simply enjoy the SDA line, whenever some come up for sale anywhere close, I have to investigate

This pair needed a lot of TLC, I bought them from the original owner, they were not beat to crap, but they needed a major cleaning. I removed and refinished all the wood and reclothed everything. Also, installed Hurricane Nuts on all the mid-drivers and pr's. I left the tweeters alone as they are virgins and the screws had never been removed. The cabs are very tight and square. The fit/finish is as good as I've ever owned (9 pair over the years)

btw, this pair of 2.3's will be for sale one day soon, I'm thinning the herd a little.

Mike, those look terrific! I always thought the 2.3 series looked a little plain compared to the other SRS speakers. The side wood really makes them look "complete".

Excellent work as always! Shame to see you're running out of room. LOL

Those 2.3's look absolutely fantastic Mike! I love the wood strip on the sides that you added to the speakers. Kinda like the 3.1TL's and the 1.2TL's. I always wondered why the 2.3(TL's) didn't have the wood srips on the sides of them. I much prefer them with the srips (as you made them). I hope to one day add some to my 2.3TL's. Thanks for the inspiration to do it!!

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Yea, The trim is exactly as the pieces on the 3.1's, 3 inches wide, with a double bead board detail. As stubby said, they now look more complete. I have another set of trim pieces made and waiting to install on the 2.3TL's that I will start on next.
