Guess thats what I get for doing chat support. I was talking to a guy from crutchfield asking which receivers would give me what I need with pre-outs. I guess he forgot that when he mentioned the Onkyo. I was just trying to see what they had under the RX-A line with pre-outs as a price comparison.
I'm thinking my AVR budget is now more 400-650 instead of under 500 like I was hoping. The more I learn/known the less I seem to be able to find anything decent in that range (New w/ warranty) -
Would the Denon AVR-X2000 work? I see it has the Pre-outs and it seems pretty decent. I can get it for 650.00 before about 50.00 off in Gift Cards.

There are > 6 Pioneer SC-1223-Ks on Amazon Warehouse Deals starting @ $675.80
From my recent A warehouse purchases, you can expect the prices to drop pretty frequently. "Used" in this case likely means the OEM box shows signs of damage. My last purchase was also lacking 2 AA batteries. There should be more "used" units as holiday returns increase. The prices don't drop in sync; & likely have more to do with how long a unit has been returned. IF you don't like a "used" unit, return it; or call back w/complaints, may get you a further discount.
I have 3 Yamaha AVRs. They don't hold a candle to my Pioneer SC-07, w/previous generation of Class D amps (140 WPC X 7). I recently saw 1 used on CL for ~ $950 (I got mine new for $1k in 2009). The SC-1223 has pre-outs for the front 2 channels = an outboard amp IF you needed more power. I have my 2 front RTia9s on a power amp via pre-outs.
