I recently acquired these Infinity speakers. As you can see the foam has deteriorated and is shedding all over the place. I'd like to replace it but I'm not sure what kind of foam to use. I thought of wool felt as being an option but all I can find is 12" x 12" and that's not big enough. Plus I need to replace the grill cloth and I'm really fond of the look of the cloth used on the Polk LSi9 speakers I own. Does anyone know if something like that is available ?? If not I can easily find black cloth anywhere on the web. The bases were a mess so I sanded them down and repainted them.
Thanks in advance............P-man

Thefoamfactory will also cut it your specified dimensions, if you so desire. At least they used to.
You want to use an open-cell foam in this application, not closed-cell. Your wool felt will also work, if you want to piece it together to get the same size. There are also types of indoor/outdoor carpet that will work well.Polk SDA SRS 2

Great speakers! I still need to replace the foam on my IIIa's. I would recommend laying them on their backs, removing the EMITs and mids. Use a putty knife to scrape off the old foam while having a vacuum cleaner going.--Gary--
