I was listening to my Polks last night and they sounded great. This morning on occasssion I take off the grills just to oogle at them. I think it was Pitdog that gave me a heads up to check the machine screws after the initial install of Larry's Rings. Well truth be told some did loosen up and I know how I torqued those down when I was buttoning them up.There not falling out but for sure there was a distinct difference from install to the morning check. Now is this just a thing, good ,bad indifferent and just on the off few months just see if they need an another adjustment. All gaskets were redone w/ Armaflex.

I'd guess further compression of the foam gaskets. The particle board could shrink slightly due to temperature and humidity, but I'm guessing it's the gaskets

"Hard" joints make good use of thread lockers.

"Soft" joints--two items separated by a squishy gasket--are less suited to thread lockers simply because the gasket collapses causing a need to re-torque the fasteners. Until the gasket becomes stable, the LAST thing you want is to glue the screws in place.

The original Polk-supplied gaskets on my drivers are WAY thinner than any gasketing material I've been able to locate. That thinner gasket would reduce the amount of re-torquing needed, because the joint is less soft.

That's one of the reasons I say that unless your stock gaskets are damaged there's no damn good reason to replace them.

The stock gaskets when new were thicker than what they are now because they have compressed. You don't want a thick gasket, just enough to seal any air leaks. If you measure the thickness of the compressed stock gasket and any aftermarket gasket you have installed after it is fully compressed......guess what? They are the same thickness, which is paper thin.

So consensous is the gaskets are just settling and maybe because of air tight worthyness of the well built cabinets in the 1st place ,the bracing and then I filled the internal seams w/ Liquid Nails. When I pulled the originals gaskets the only ones that were salvageable were the tweeters ,more mass I'm guessing. No tragedy here I'm not going to locktite them just adjust when needed.

Yes, I've re-torqued new gaskets two/three times before they compressed completely.
