Magnet Re-alignment

I have a MW6500 that is in nice shape cosmetically but the magnet has shifted and it is frozen. Since this seems to be a rather common occurance I am wondering if anyone has come up with a "good way" to fix this problem. I did notice that Midwest Speaker offers a magnet re-alignment service for around $30.00. Have to add shipping costs etc. Have not talked to them yet but that may be an option. Has anyone used them for that service?

Bruce, some members have made special jigs out of PVC pipe, with thumb screws, or bolts to re-align them. Do a search. Here's one of interest: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?135716-Let-s-Try-to-Fix-a-MW6511-Damaged-in-ShippingHome Theater/2 Channel:

You can use JB Weld or some other good epoxy to fix the magnets in place so that none of the others will ever shift. You can order a new speaker from Polk for $48 if they have it in stock, not sure about that particular speaker though. Tell them you are a Club Polk member to get that price and it's better to call than email.Home Theater
