The 3' you should have them off the sidewall is what from the side of the cabinet or measured 3' from the middle of the speaker aka the tweeters?

The 3' spacing is measured from the outside of the speaker cabinet to the adjacent wall, whether left or right.

That is what I thought but with these things it does not hurt to ask.

I am looking into building a room for them in the basement. The size of the room will be 23x20x7 not the best height but the speakers will be on the 23 foot wall which if the speakers are 12' apart and being that they are 22" wide will give them a lot of room on the side walls and should not be corner loaded whatsoever. That should give them 3.66' on each side. I will be sitting around 12 feet away from them so that should work out well and if need be I can make adjustments.

That is if I end up building there is a steel pole right in the middle of that area that needs to be moved so who knows if I can do it without a lot of cost but if I can the wife has given it the green light.

I know the SDA sound best 8 to 10 feet apart does anyone know how they would sound in this room if I do this with the setup I am talking about?

The room will be treated heavily and I may go with 4 foot wide corner traps to really nail the bass down very low.

The most surprising thing is my wife loves how the system sounds and told me to add to it as she plays music and movies on it wile I am at work most woman hate large speakers she told me I am not allowed to sell them lol yes a real keeper for sure.

Those damned lally columns, always getting in the way. I'd have a structural engineer look at it. The 2.3s should fill that space nicely. I'll let others chime in on the spacing, but keeping with the equilateral triangle, you should be fine. A 12' screen/projection unit would be nice to fill the gap between them.

I designed and built my own center. Matches the timbre of the SDAs perfectly. You might also consider eliminating the center all together. With that much spacing, and with a proper seating arrangement, it's possible.
