You could opt for some B&W 802d's as well. Magnepans also don't allow for room to sit anything on top of them. The Gear... Nice to see I'm not the only one who deals with that. Take heart, it's almost over.

Look at the bright side, she could have wrapped them with tinsel and lights too._____________________________________________________________________________________________

Unless Santa's butt has double face tape on it, I'd laugh it off. My Ex was forever putting Chatchkas on my speakers. Be happy they're not plants.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Her friends will probably tell her: "Oh cool, you found some tall thingys to stick under your Santas."
-
I guess I have a different take: as long as whatever she puts on them doesn't get them wet or cause scratches, I don't get worried. I find I enjoy my system alot more if I'm not too obsessive about it. Easier to get lost in and enjoy the music.

If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Light them on fire and throw them in the yard where she can see them as she's walking in and out.
-
Eh, as mentioned it could be worse. At least she didnt try to hang stocking holders from them lol......
Or just move them and claim it was the "Elf on the Shelf"....."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Did she also move the speakers back behind the front of the table? Move them forward to help with sound stage - the table is interferring with it..[

Well, at least it wasn't a potted plant or candle. LOL My wife and I worked this one out before proposal to place. Nothing goes on top of my speakers but dust. Anyone who has bought equipment from me knows I'm anal about keeping it minty fresh. I once sold a pair of speakers because a small scratch was discovered---true story.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I have my 4ft Christmas tree set up on my SVS cylinder sub."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -
My SVS moves around a bit on the hardwood floor. That tree wouldn't stay up there.
I did have a cat that would sit up on it during movies. I have no idea why."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
You guys were too kind this year. I usually post these pics and share Polkie responses with my wife to show how fanatical OTHER Polkies are about their equipment - and demonstrate that I am only moderately obsessed with audio.
BTW - I do get obsessed about speakers and would freak out if they were to get scratched. The little Santas are made of soft cloth and I tolerate them.
Happy Holidays!Rig1 - Totem Hawks, Benchmark HDR, Parasound A21, Sonus, Samsung 52 LCD, Audioquest Type4

I was the one who moved them back. I played with positioning and they sound better to me closer to the back wall. When I moved them forward I could differentiate left and right speaker output, they disappeared when I moved them back and I get a wider soundstage.Rig1 - Totem Hawks, Benchmark HDR, Parasound A21, Sonus, Samsung 52 LCD, Audioquest Type4

Who knows, maybe all the hints got me a new toy? -
Oh thats not funny, besides I did "snoop" some, and at my age... Pathetic.....but justified...

At least she is holiday themed. My spouse finds any flat surface simply irresistible for anything that will fit. One of the reasons I think the LSiM design may be for me...

Oh no. No, no no. Trash can stat! -
That's just poor training. My wife knows better than to set anything on my speakers.
