They make me nervous as we give up big plays and allow the other team to score a lot. All year the Bronco's have been giving up a lot of points and yards. To be a Superbowl champion , you need not only a great Offense , Ok they have the best Offense in Football but you also need to be able to Stop the other Team from scoring.
It's not just the Defense , it's special Teams and even the Offense with Turn overs. I think it's time to put up that Orange Crush and stop someone.
One thing I do like about the Defense is they do play like a Superbowl team at times making stops and big plays when it really counts.

What do you guys think of the Broncos as a whole? Not just the amazing crazy scoring Offense.

I think they are beatable. Not a scary defense and if a team can get to Manning, who knows?

This is what happens when Peyton Manning is your QB, I call it the Manning curse. Your team gets used to him putting up crazy numbers and bailing your team out when it gets behind. Look at Denver the year before he joined, their defense played lights out because they had to, they had Tebow back there playing QB. Manning shows up and all the sudden they're an average defense.

The same thing happened in Indy, you have Dungy who was a defensive coach and their defense was typically bad because they 'know' that Manning and their offense could put up 40 points.

The PROBLEM is that this doesn't work as well when you get in the playoffs, which is why Peyton has such a poor record in the playoffs. The one year he managed to lead them to a super bowl win was because the Indy defense stepped up big. He gets a lot of crap for not winning the big game, but it's typically the defense that lets the team down (anyone remember the game the Broncos lost against the Ravens last year?).

If you take the Denver defense from 2011 (of which they still have many key players) and have them play as well now as they did then and add that to their current offense...they're going undefeated IMO. But unfortunately for us Bronco fans that's not the case, even though there's really no reason it can't be.

I'm no too concerned with the loss to Indy, there was a bunch leading up to that game and no way it could have been easy to prepare for or play that game going back to Indy. The loss to NE is worrisome because it illustrates how poor their defense can play, and yet in that same game you saw how well they could play as well.

The biggest problem with Denver is DISCIPLINE. I'm not sure if it's their coach or just the players, but the penalties and turnovers will be their undoing in the playoffs if they don't get those worked out. They've had a complete lapse of discipline in every game this season, from Holiday dropping the ball before he's in the end zone earlier in the year to Miller with that stupid hit on Fitzpatrick today...that crap has got to stop or they will NOT be making a trip to NY in February.

welcome to the falcons of the last few years, big gaudy offense, defense and special teams, meh.

And with that, the feeling in the back of your mind they are gonna come up a little short in the end.

Having said that, it sure beats this year, where your team is decimated before even breaking training camp, and it just keeps getting worse.

For the record, im pullin for peyton.

BTW, brady, bellicheck et al just keep winning, although it looks like gronk tore an acl.

All that being said, how is it the Denver scored 51 points and I didn't notice? I watched the entire game and really don't remember watching them score that many points. That speaks volumes about how good that offense is, when oh by the way you scored 51 points and nobody notices.

As a lifetime Broncos fan (didn't see the game today), I would agree to the fact of a mental lapse in every game leading to a stupid penalty. Locker room accountability needs to be raised. The loss of Vickerson on the line really showed up on the 30yd touchdown run from what the highlights show. I also think the lack of Champ Bailey in leadership, run defense (arguably the best corner ever against the run) as well as pass defense since Chris Harris has had to move off of slot coverage to corner has hurt. It's sad to think of how good the pass defense would have been with DRC on one side and Bailey on the other. I'm also of the opinion that Von Miller is too heavy at 270, the first step isn't as explosive, dropping back to 260 will bring back the speed.

The special teams cluelessness I just don't get. Was i the only one screaming "mistake" when Holliday was sent back to field the punt just before half the other week? He has a hard enough time fielding in good conditions. Then, there is Welker's stupidity in overtime against the Patriots. Not to mention that he seems to have one key drop per game from body catching instead of using his hands.

Overall, I can see Denver getting to the Super Bowl, although I think Bellichik having sold his soul to the devil may very well ruin that possibility. But in a Super Bowl against the Seahawks, their d-line and mugging-style db's will be the difference.

With all due respect, you're in S.E. Pa. and you're a Denver fan? What about the Eagles, talk about a team that "needs" a SB win! I grew up north of Philly and I've been living under N.E. Canada for two decades and still waiting for that game!

Not that there is anything wrong with Denver (Manning is one of the best to have played the game). But Denver, excuse me. Does have a SB or two under their belt?

And they look good too. But I agree with A...D above, they can be beaten and the playoffs will not be a cake walk regardless of whether their defense plays well or not.

Yeah I don't get the regional fan thing, at least not in the sense that I'm supposed to be a fan of my local team. I was born in Dallas and have lived here my whole life, and I've never liked the Cowboys.

I grew up as a 49er fan, initially because they were the archenemy of Dallas and I hated the Cowboys, but later on even more as I appreciated guys like Montana and Rice and what they were able to accomplish. I've also always been a Colts fan because when I was a kid I liked their uniforms, only in the last 15 years or so did I really ever get to watch them as they got better and got more time on tv. Oddly, me being a fan of the Broncos is the only regional based thing, a lot of my family moved up there about 15 years ago and we started going to games with them. That was a slower transition for me but I was on board at least several years before Manning showed up so I'm not a bandwagon guy. Those are my three teams and have been for quite some time now, I also tend to like whatever other team in the NFC East who has a chance of beating Dallas and winning the division.

It's only now that all my teams are decent at the same time, I endured basically whole whole life up to ten years ago of bad Colt football, watched my 49ers go through a really bad ten year stretch after they fired Mooch, and really only the last couple years have my Broncos been consistently good.

Broncos are still giving up a lot of points to opposing teams. That's worrisome for any coach. That's also why when they play another team with a good offense, it becomes a shoot out.

I don't see any one dominate team out there. It could be anyones trophy come big game time.

I've been a Steeler Eagles fan all my life. Back in 1983 when John Elway hit the field , I watched him play and really started liking the Broncos after they picked him up. The broncos have 2 Superbowl rings but have been there what 5 or 6 times.

I'm very happy for the Eagles , they are playing with tons of heart. The Snow game was simply amazing.

The San Diego offense looks impressive thus far.

Peyton looks exhausted and balls are sailing on him, I'm predicting a Bronco loss tonight unless they can slip Manning some caffeine pills or something.

That's the worst I've seen Denver play start to finish since the beginning of last year. This game is the perfect illustration of my points above from several days ago. No defense, no discipline, and too reliant on Peyton and the offense to bail them out and it didn't happen tonight. I'll grant that this is a Thursday game and Peyton was clearly not on his game, but this is a recurring issue and is going to get worse as they play better teams.

What you saw tonight is what you're gonna see in the playoffs this year as they face better team, against good defenses they are simply not going to be able to outplay their poor defense and mistakes on a consistent basis, and in the playoffs it's one screwup and you're out.

The only hope that Denver has is that the rest of the AFC isn't that great either, so they may win by default.

Go Lions. At least they have a shot at making the playoffs.
Poor old Peyton's struggling but he sure had a number of great performances early in the season.

He looked very tired tonight, I'm hoping their fate gets sealed one way or another next week and they can shut it down for the last regular season game.

18 yards "rushing"? Really! That's an awful lot of pressure on the QB, no?

I'm not surprised, up here in N.E. the Chargers have "surprised" us any number of times. They're a good offensive team.

While I'm at it, I'm going to throw in an Eagles upset of Seattle should they meet in the playoffs? Might be wishful thinking, but after watching the Giants SURGE twice in the late season and upend the Pats in two SBs, nothing is impossible! Actually, it's more like I'm hoping for an Eagles surge because the Pats WILL be beaten by whatever team they face first this year (so many injuries it's tough to watch).

I just got back from the game, and even though I had fun hanging out with friends, it was an awful game by my Broncos. As said above, no defense at all, hell no special teams...

One of my friends I went to the game with is a big San Diego fan, so he had a really good time watching the Broncos fall apart..

Hope he wasn't one of the dudes that was stabbed.

From what I saw last night on Denvers defense.....they won't make it past the first round of the playoffs. Sad thing is, they were like that from the first game of the season and haven't improved all season long.

Last night was a road map for other teams to beat them. Keep the high powered offense off the field. You have to do that with long clock eating drives, repeated first downs. Which is exactly what SD did. Denver's penalties didn't help either. That last quarter neutral zone infraction call.....killed any chance they had for a rally.

Sometimes a loss is a good thing at the right time.

I think Denver and Manning will learn from this and adapt - good for them.

As a long time disappointed Chargers 'fan' (now reduced status to mildly interested) - all they have done is shown that they are good at being a spoiler but will never be a consistent contender.
