Save the date!

Polkfest 2014 will be the weekend of October 10th-12th, 2014.

It's in NJ, about 15 minutes east of Philadelphia. More specific location info as well as hotels, rental cars, cab services and even bus schedules will be posted. There is a ton of extra stuff to do around here as well as in Philadelphia and I will get some of that info for spouses or those looking to make a longer vacation out of it all. I will see what I can do about getting a block of rooms at one of the closer hotels set up, hopefully with a discount as well. All the info will be posted here as it comes along. So check here often and please keep the BS outta here.

If you still want to talk smack or just be your usual putz self in general, go here: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?153864-Polkfest-2014...

This is a nice little hotel in Haddonfield, a very old town in NJ. If you want to stay here, book early 'cause they fill up pretty quickly.

    Haddonfield Inn
44 West End Ave. Haddonfield, New Jersey 08033
    Phone: (856) 428-2195 or 1-800-269-0014

Stay away from the Bellmawr Motor Inn...you've been warned.

    Questions?

There will be more info later on historic areas. If you want to stay in Philly, Philly has a rather extensive website devoted to tourism. Lotsa stuff there with lots of good deals too

    http://www.visitphilly.com/

When we get a better idea of how many are going, we can try to get a block of rooms at a discount price.

If you are planning on coming and bringing some of your junk....I mean stereo equipment with you for sale, raffle or show and tell or whatever, let me know what you are bringing. I will need to know so I can ensure enough space is available.

If you are coming from far, far away...stay there! No, seriously, if you are coming from far, far away and want to mail something, PM me or hit the email link in my profile page and I'll send you my address. Let me know what you are sending and get me a tracking number and I'll make sure someone grabs it as soon as possible after delivery.

If you want to provide food or something, let me know that too. Keep in mind that most Polkfests have tried to offer a sampling of local favorites. That said, there will be grills (like 4 of them and a fire pit with a cooking grate)with charcoal fires in them and I will make sure that I have at least one grill for vegematarians.

A well-rounded crowd to start. I gotta take a hard look at my hooch situation w/Antny on the list.

I can also hand-deliver a lot of different vintage silver if there's any interest.

Now that I'm on the list, I have to pull myself back off of it. Sorry, Jstas. I've got an event on Sunday that I have to be at, and then I'm leaving for a week in Texas. Need to be home Friday/Saturday :(

OK, 27th was my date to let me know if you were coming.

Here's my list of people who said something one way or other. The people who bailed already are not included:

Me (of course) - some of my neighbors and a couple friends will be here too
    polrbehr - +2 (maybe on the 2)
    George Grand
    amulford - double booked himself
F1nut <-- unsure now, you all should peer pressure him into coming for at least Saturday

At this point we are planning for between 20 and 30 people 'cause I know my neighbors will pop in from time to time and I have some local friends that expressed interest in stopping by to see what the hubbub was all about.

If you are on other forums and know people who would like to come, please inform them to let me know ASAP or speak for them (if they are definitively coming) if they fear change and refuse to come to this forum.

Polk Audio has also thrown their hat into the ring for support as well. What that will entail has not been finalized yet but Polk Audio will have some level of representation.
