I joined this forum many years ago so that I could buy something used here. Now it says I need 100 posts to even view it???! This is absolute madness. I can understand the requirement to post an ad, but to view it!?
I revisited today so I can get some decent equipment to help my friend start his HT setup; but the hell with this place. Sorry in advance for my language.

The 100 post limit is to prevent 1000's of drive by buyers and sellers clogging up the place.

You know, it sure would be nice if the mods could simply eliminate all posts in threads like this, state the obvious and close the thread. The obvious being;

It's also intended to help avoid scams. Ebay transactions are protected by paypal. Craigslist transactions are usually at least done in person, where the buyer can inspect the item and the seller can get paid in cash. The transactions that occur here in the flea market are generally completely blind. Yes there are in-person transactions where the buyer and the seller happen to be close enough to do so, but generally speaking the payments are through paypal and the items are shipped. With no paypal protections offered for a transaction conducted in the Polk forums, there needs to be an implicit trust between the buyer and the seller, in order for there to be confidence that neither side is pulling a scam. That is simply not possible when someone shows up and is instantly permitted to transact. Even with a 100 post count minimum, there is still the possibility for people to try to pull a scam, but at least there's a roadblock for them to get around so they would hopefully move on somewhere else.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing.
