Mid Life maybe?

Whats up everyone?
Since 2005 ,I have not owned a car. I have been driving SUV's and for many good reasons. I use the cargo area for many things a car simply can't get done. I also go Mountain bike riding and have a 2 inch hitch bike rack.
I have owned 2 Nissan Pathfinders 2005 and 2008 model years and currently I'm rocking a 2011 Nissan Murano which I love. It's a great vehicle , comfortable , rides mostly like a car and has the benefits of being a SUV.

Something happened to me when I went to customers house and they had an array of Audi's. He had a R8 as his toy , a RS5 as his daily , a A8 as the family ride , wife had a Q7 Supercharged and I think both kids rocked A4's.

So after eyeing up all these awesome looking vehicles , I got the bug back to own a car. Not giving up on the Murano or a family ride as I'm a family man and need a family ride but I think I want a toy. The A5 , S5 , RS5 line is killing me. I love the body style , the interior and now I long for those back roads that I use to rock when I had my BMW 328i. The Sheer thrill of driving does get lost when you own a SUV. Yeah they are nice, I loved both my Pathfinders, they where quick and strong. That Body style was awesome and really was a top notch vehicle. The Murano is a bit smoother and easier on gas but a little which is a reason I didn't go with a 3rd Pathfinder. But come on , anyone who loves driving , cars and racing always has this burning desire to get out there and go fast , go long and go rock those twisty back roads that call you name when the moment strikes.

I'm not going to the Audi Dealership as If I test drive one ,I'm coming home with one. I know I will not be able to control myself.
One day though I would really like to get another sports car. One like a S5 or a Porshce Boxster, BMW M3 or 335i Turbo. Something along those lines needs to be in by garage.

The Pathfinder has always been a great truck. In 2005 when they completely redesigned it, I thought if I had to go SUV , that would be the one. I owned 2 of them as I liked them that much. I almost left the dealership with a 3rd. They had this beautiful 2011 brand new SV ( which was called SE) in a darker Red with black interior which almost steered me away from the Murano.

Well, it's better than finding another, usually younger, woman (in most married men's cases) in a midlife crisis, cheaper too. For me, it was back into motorcycles after many years of not having one. Best thing is the wife enjoys it too!

Take TWO aspirins and call me in the morning! It'll pass.

I never went through the so called mid-life crisis (no sports cars, no divorce, no young vixens, or topees--then again, not all the hair is gone yet, lol), probably because I consider LIFE as a whole one giant crisis, and then you're GONE! lol

Some of us are just BORN mature and dispense with all the 'silliness'!

Same boat here, but lets differentiate . There's a fine line between a "mid-life crisis" and simply wanting to realize some dreams.

That said, if your wallet and your dreams are finally on the same plane....rock it out of the park brother.

This past spring, the wife and I decided to put a toy in the garage. She wanted a convertible, and I wanted something to take to the track every now and then. We ended up with a current gen M3 with the 6-speed. It really is a blast. If it had been my choice I would have just snagged a coupe or sedan, as they are far lighter, but even with the added weight it's still a fun car.

If the more aggressive styling, and the V8 sound isn't a big deal, the 335 is just as much fun. And in day-to-day driving is arguably faster. If someone in a 335 were to catch me even remotely off guard at a light, it would take quite a while to reel them back in.

Something else worth considering is the Porsche Cayman. The styling is a little polarizing, but it is an outstanding driver's car.

Here's a pic of our mid-life whatever. lol

If you want affordable fun, get a Passat with the V6. My 2.5 only has 170hp, but it's a blast to drive. The V6 has an additional 110 hp, 280 hp.
New, they run about $30k for the SE model and $34k for the SEL.
