I have this exact station and paid more for it. Very reliable and you have the option to also calibrate if you feel the temp is off a bit.
For the price I think it is a killer deal

That does look like a nice station, especially for the price.

Nope not at all. The only down side I found is that the sponge they used to send with all had a circle cut into them. I tossed it in the garbage and bought a new one no problem...I have used the heck out of mine and I even had to pay (gasp) for all those ends. Guys this is a steal at the price. If I didn't have 2 stations now I'd get another. -

Oh come on Jake I know its not a Weller but they are very good stations. Warm up quick, keep accurate temp and can be calibrated, although I've never had to.

I almost bought a Weller today for 90.00 that my company sells. As a rookie thought I didnt need to spend thst much. This is a no brainer. Only have 4 left now. Thanks for the post.HT: LSI15, LSIC, LSIFX, Emo XPA-3:biggrin: Onkyo TXNR809, Sony BDP-S500, PannyDMP-BDT320, MIT S1 SC. Mit 73842dlp

While I have not used the soldering station above (although I have used the BlackJack De-soldering station by same company). And I do own 2 Weller soldering irons (WES-51 and WTCPT), and I will say that they are better quality (by far) than the BlackJack De-soldering station from Circuit Specialists. What model of Weller were you looking to buy for $90.00?
Edit: Rememebr we all start as novices, and move up. The Weller is what you will want as a novice and an "expert".
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Been using mine for over a week. Excellent little station.
Thanks pitHome Theater/2 Channel:

Has anyone bought other types of items from Circuit Specialist? They have lots of interesting stuff at what seems to bargain prices.

Mine looks exactly like that, but it's a different band, both are hakko knockoffs of the 838 (I believe that is the model). Mine works fine and I bought it used when my boss got his new station. I do like my Hakko at work a lot better though as it heats up faster and holds it's heat better. Weller at one time was a great Iron, but for the most part I feel they are junk. They just don't last like they used to.

Looks like a deal and a half. I have a weller station and have had it for almost three decades now. Well over $100 though to replace.

I would buy one if I didn't have a newer Weller adjustable station as it does look like a good deal.Speedskater wrote: »Has anyone bought other types of items from Circuit Specialist? They have lots of interesting stuff at what seems to bargain prices.
I'm waiting delivery on one of their electronics chassis, so we'll see what the quality is. -
Looks like a good buy!

Yes, 40W is plenty for chips, caps resistors and printed circuit board soldering. You only need more if you are doing things like soldering to chassis what would sink a lot of heat.Stan
