The build quality on my 703s is outstanding, especially in their price range.

Every LSiM speaker I have seen and/or have had in my hands has been extremely well made.

My 703's are built well,,, only issue is you will have a hard time finding stands with a large enough top plate to adequately support them... If I was to do it all over again I would have bout the 705s for a few hundred more during the F&F sale last summer.

That has always been my issues with Bookshelf speakers vs floor standing. Shame as most of the time the entry level floor standing speaker of the same line always seem a bit lacking in overall sound quality vs the bookshelf. But then again I never go entry level anything so I would just go for the 707's if I where to go LSIM's.

I only heard the 703's as I had them here during the demo program and I thought they where built extremely well especially in the price class. I found nothing wrong with them. I would love to get my ears on a pair of 707's and a full HT setup.

My favorite of the line is the 705. The 707 is just too much

I would like to hear how the 707's sound in a modest sized room. So many report that the low end is too much. I wonder how the output compares to the RT3000P's? I can see how many would think that those are too much also.

Anyway, the 703 is just a super bookshelf. A three-way that can go low...

    Hey

    Hm well I have the 707 706c and the 702 F/X.
They are well made but with problems.
On the one 707 is the front ( black one) angular. On the other one is on the back a dent from polishing at the factory I guess.
From the 706c grille came after unwraping the protective sheet the POLK emblem off. The glue doesn´t hold the emblem.
and one 702 hast a painting drop at the bottom.

Well maybe I´m to picky but for this price there shouldn´t be problems like this. The biggest thing which bothers me is the black front at one of the 707 :(

My dealer said that is maybe the manufacturing tolerance, but sorry not at this price range. He contacted Polk. I´m curious what Polk `ll say.

ALL of the several LSiMs I've seen and heard have been in pristine condition without defects of any sort, even under very close inspection. And, the quality and workmanship of this series has been on par with other brands that are priced at multiples of the Polks' prices. Since you have a local dealer, I'd take it up with him. From your other post about your setup, it sounds like you just recently got them. He should be willing to replace/exchange them for ones that are more to your liking, or at a minimum, give you a discount on the ones you already have while at the same time helping you to make them right - ie. fixing the emblem issue, etc.

You were better off with the 703's in your room. The 705's would've been overkill and not performed to their ability.

    But I like being overkilled!

Sounds to me like your dealer got some factory seconds instead of factory perfects. He should exchange them.

Im going to buy a pair of these in 2014. I get them for dealer pricing ( the markup is insane btw). What makes me want them is the build quality. I think polk has made a nice product. I am a bit concerned that when I have the money to order mine that I might have to return them for replacements b/c of factory defects.

    You really posted that....really!?!

There's a chance of an issue with anything you buy, so if you don't buy anything you won't have to worry about an issue.
