My DIY audio rack.

Below is a photo to my new audio rack. I took two old chemistry lab tables and shortened them up a little. The wood will eventually be stripped and stained. The tops will get a few more coats of primer and sealer. Next summer I am thinking of staining the wood a cherry color and giving the tops a polished black look.

I prefer the finish just the way it is man. Spike em and call it a day.

If they are old lab tables, then my guess might be some sort of epoxy finish on top or something? They look like my high schools old chemistry tables. Which were sturdy as heck and put up with lots of spilled chemicals, so it should make a nice table.

I had my father make up some metal sleeves for carriage bolts. I cant quite spike them so I figured the rounded end on a carriage bold is the next best thing. Also with the help of a nut it allows me to level the audio rack. I will try and get some photos of the legs when I start that process for those of you who want to copy the idea.

Great DIY Rack, Solid! The chem lab tables I used in college had hard black (chemical resistent) rubber tops.
I like your idea of using stove bolts vs spikes, interesting thought.
