Rti 9a bi-amping bi-wiring question.
I have a a question about the crossover in regards to where the rti 9a low frequency and high frequency desperate.
I currently have a rotel rmb 1075. I was wondering if the mid and tweeter are on together and the lower was just the woofers.
I am considering bi-amping 4 channels to one post on each of the speakers I was wondering if this is feasible. But
More importantly does the lower post just drive the woofers and at what ohm load.
Any help would be appreciated.
I mean am I better off getting the rti7a and just using it in single channel.
I have a Harman kardon 3600
Rotel rmb 1075.
I guess is it worth getting the rti9a's with my current power setup or would I need to get another larger 2 channel amp.

Is this for 2 channel music or HT?Political Correctness'.........defined

I'd say 60%ht and 40%2ch stereo.
I was just wondering if the woofer and mid/tweet are separate. If I removed the plate.
Then I was wondering what ohm load the woofers are because my rotel 1075 Goes down to 4ohms.
I'd use 2 channels a piece on the mains. 1 for the center. Then the Hk for the surrounds and have my
second zone for the Bose behind the bar.
I just don't see what the woofers on the rti9 run ohms wise. -

Remove the jumpers and you'll find out. Then I was wondering what ohm load the woofers are
No idea.Political Correctness'.........defined

I would imagine the woofers are an 8ohm load as well as the tweet/mids.
Let me make sure we understand what you're suggesting. With a five channel amp, you want to use four channels of the rotel to power the A9's, two channels per tower, one for the mids/tweet and one for the woofers correct? I assume you would be using a splitter from the AVR/source to the rotel?
If so, I asked about this once upon a time, it was suggested to me that because the volume from a given wattage will be different between the mids/tweet and the woofers that it could present some setup/adjustment issues. IE since the Mid/Tweet are small speakers which don't require as much power/db than the woofers do, there may be an imbalance.
If that's accurate (veterans check me on that) I'd suggest running one speaker from one channel for now, and upgrading to something beefier for the A9's later. 120w from a good amp is much better than 120w from an AVR. Been there, done that.Up

I have the RTIa9's and yes the upper posts do the 2 mids and tweeter. The lower post does the 3 woofers.
Funny enough I also have the lsi9's and the upper post do the 2 mids and the lower post just does the tweeter.
Also rita9's the top and bottom are all 8ohmHT - Sony 52" Bravia - Onkyo TX-NR3008 - Emotiva XPA-5

Interesting that it is backwards. Also rita9's the top and bottom are all 8ohm
If you are measuring ohms at the binding posts, that is resistance, not impedance.Political Correctness'.........defined

Nobody mentioned impedance, but good information anyway.Up

Yeah, the OP is actually asking about impedance, although I don't think he knows it.Political Correctness'.........defined
