Surround Bar 5000 not responding

I have a Surround Bar 5000 and its not responding to any of the remotes. Its not responding to the Polk audio remote, TV remote, or the cable remote. On the Surround Bar the blue and green lights are steady green. On the wireless subwoofer the light is steady red. I unplugged the Surround Bar and the subwoofer for about 30 mins and its still no responding. I bought this Surround Bar in December 2012 with no issues until now. What can I do to correct this issue?

Sorry there's a problem. Let's try wiping out the unit's programmed memory (it will still respond to its own remote). To do this put the 5000 into "standby" mode, the LED will be red. Then push and hold for a couple of seconds the "learn" button. The LED should turn orange and blink, indicating that the memory is clean.
Now, hopefully the Polk remote (with a good battery) will function.

The sound bar wont turn off when I press the power button on the sound bar.

Try this: unplug the AC power to both the bar and the sub, wait about three minutes, switch off the "on/off" rocker switches on both units. Reconnect the AC power on both and turn on. If this doesn't get anywhere call Polk's CS guys on Monday (not sure if they are off that day) at: 1-800-377-7655 or via email to: polkcs@polkaudio.com. Since you appear to be within the warranty period have the product's serial number and date and place of purchase handy when contacting them.
Don't worry, Polk will straighten this out for you.
