The 2 ending trailers leaves you asking what are the ........ And what happened to.......
I won't spoil it until you see it.
Good movie if you like the marvel comic movies.

Is it better than the first one? I like the Marvel stuff fine, but that first movie was bad in almost every single way...

    Thor 1 my rating 6/10
    Thor 2 my rating 9-10/10!!
Definitely better, better than iron man 3!
Good plot, great fight scenes, and funny at times like the Avengers movie was.
I might go back and watch a 2nd time, like I did with the avengers movie.

I am going to see it today. Glad to hear that at least one Polkie liked it. I thought it looked pretty good from the trailers but read a mediocre review of it in Ent. Weekly.

On a side note, I read yesterday that Marvel is teaming with Netflix and will produce tv shows with them that will feature Defenders characters. Sounds pretty interesting.

Thor was very good. Tons of action since they didn't have to introduce all the characters again. A pretty good storyline and good villian. Loki was the star of the second half of the movie. 8 - 9 out of 10.

I read that the collector is suppose to be one of the oldest living creatures in the universe and collects various species & artifacts, 2 planets worth. Apparently Thanos, the big red monster at the end of the avengers movie interacts @ the collector.

The Collector is going after the Infinty Gems apparently, which were part of the Infinity Gauntlet in one of my favorite Marvel storylines involving Warlock. In the mini-series, The Infinity Guantlet, Thanos actually got all the gems and became all powerful. But I think the current Marvel storyline with Thanos is going to involve The Guardians of the Galaxy and not Thor or The Avengers. The Avengers next baddy is supposed to be Ultron, the robot built by Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man, aka Giant-man, aka Goliath, aka Yellow Jacket, and maybe a couple other aka's I forget.

Yeah, 61 yrs. old and a Marvel geek for 50 of them at least.

Just got back. My Impressions are good but not fantastic like the first. I think I'm getting a bit tired of War stories. Isn't there anything else to tell in the comic book world other then WAR?

Your not really expecting a super hero that rescues cats from trees are you Dan ?

Comics, as in the super hero type were all born during our world wars, so that constant battle between good and evil is the main gig for comics.

I understand that but it would be slightly refreshing if they changed it up just a bit.

    Hey Mantis,
did you like the new superman movie?
I thought they had a pretty good story line in there, the "reluctant" hero, his own doubts/ the conversation with the priest, and the father "protecting" his identity. I liked the new modern day twist on the traditional story line, I found these parts very well done, along with the gratuitous action-sci fi- fight scenes.

The Marvel & DC comics movies have varying degrees of mediocre to semi-interesting to good plots, but it's nice to enjoy watching these movies with your kids, having grown up with these comics. Even my 14 y/o "Hunger Games" daughter liked the new Man of Steel movie, said it was "interesting, liked the flashback storylines", when we watched it yesterday on blu ray.

If you want to try something different I have a personal suggestion:

Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa, 1950's Classic.
there was an American western that copied the movie too(I forget the name of it)

There's a Japanese anime series, "Samurai Seven", the modern Re-take of the movie, which I loved even much better than the original, my kids loved it so much, we watched the entire series twice! It's very funny,& a different story line.

Ducati the American Western was The Magnificant Seven, one of the absolute best Westerns ever made. Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz are the Seven and Eli Wallach is the big bad guy. I love this movie and the theme music was used in the old Marlboro cigarette commercials.
