The main thing we want to know is photo and photo folder management, right now the photos imported from camera card just go anywhere, would like to be able to pick photos from all our random photos, create folders, and place photos according to how we want them.

What would be really helpful would be the ability to designate multiple photos and then oneclick them all to a certain folder.

A very simple layman friendly website would be nice.

I had Vista and after it crashed the 4th time I dumped it and had Windows 7 installed. Never had a problem since - knock on wood!

I agree on the Windows 7 recc. My dad battled with Vista for nearly a year. We eventually got 7 installed and I haven't had a "tech call" from him in probably a year or more.

    Ugh...really guys???

The guy is asking for help with Windows, not an alternative that's going to require buying all new hardware. I'm not sure why every Windows discussion needs to turn into a 'you should buy a Mac instead' discussion, its just as bad as every iPhone or iPad comment inciting all the 'Apple sucks Android is better' comments. I'm not sure why these things always have to devolve the way they do.

I can't really offer much help as I'm also a Mac user these days, but I'm in general agreement that Windows 7 is a massive improvement over Vista. You may also want to see if there's a Microsoft store around you. They've gone the Apple route of having retail stores where you would probably be able to get some help, though I've not been in one of their stores personally.

    Scottyboy,
While I will agree upgrading to Win7 is a huge improvement, here are some things you can try in the mea time.
    1) Check out the preferences / settings in the software you are using to upload your photos. Probally the same brand as your camera is, like Canon ect. There should be a program under your programs menu, hen find the settings and it should give you an option for where you want the photos uploaded to.
    2) Use File explorer to connect to your camera disc and select the photos you want to copy, then select multiple files by using the "shift" or "control" button to select multiple files. then right click and hit "copy" go to the folder you want to place them in and right click "Paste"
    3) to find photos on your hard drive, go into windows explorer and do a search using "*.jpg" that will find any JPG file format on your computer. then you can copy and paste them into the new folders you want to organize them into.
    4) You can also use a program like Picassa to organize your photos on your computer. There are options for selecting where you import files from, like your hard drive and a connected camera.

it has been alittle while sense I used it, but I know you can manage how it imports and from where, and I believe you can set it up to be your upload software when you connect the camera to it. I 'think' it will be in the pop up options when you connect the camera, once you have picassa installed.

Thanks guys, we might be in the market for a tablet or laptop soon, mainly for deb while we are on our way to, and hile waiting at emory clinic for debs treatments.

I doubt our price range will allow us to be in the apple marketplace, but i have always heard good things about their ease of use.

In the meantime, I will definitely look into the help suggested here.

    thanks again.

    Scottyboy,

    Sorry for your pain,
I had the same problems years back, "digging thru my old notes", if I find it I'll post how I fixed it.
FYI, kcoc321 advise is the right path, I just can't recall right now.

Considering how awful Vista was I thought Windows 7 was a very logical move to improve his need to manage Pictures and overall experience with a Windows based machine. But If you want to do pictures easy bubbly and fun, getting a Mac is the correct answer. My post has nothing to do with you should buy a Mac over a PC, just pointing out that Mac does Photos better then anything I have ever used on my windows based machines.
