Well it's calling for snow for the next 4 days in my neck of the woods. And if it like every other year we will have snow on the ground till late April early May.

But it is Skidoo Season, Ski Season, SnowShoeing, Cross Country Sking, Ice Fishing and lots of hot totties on cold winter nights WooHoo.

Sorry got a little carry away.

So what's everyone's favorite winter activity?

And I'm not complaining as we've had snow as early as September some years.

But you guys got quite the wallop with that storm we are only going to get about 6 to 8 inches if were lucky. We normally don't get more then a few feet all winter the thing is that it get cold and stay that way and of course it don't melt.

They should put a band together. Whistling Ducks ? What do they whistle....Dixie ? Just curious, never heard one.

LOL! Their calls sound a lot like a cockatiel rather than a duck quack. At sunrise, it sounds like they've already started a band.

Fav Winter Activity? Riding a snow coach into Yellowstone NP & staying @ Old Faithful. Snowshoeing the geyser basin. Waiting for OF to go off @ 0200 & -20 F (we didn't last). Trumpeter Swans & Brine Flies in the geyser basin.

We had snow here on 18 Oct. A few years back, snow/ice was on the ground from early Dec to mid-March (in the shade). Usually, Kansans get to watch snow turn brown, melt & refreeze; with < enough to do anything.

I love snowboarding, but I have not been in years since we started having kids. Maybe I will take my oldest skiing or snowboarding this year for the first time.

I used to snowboard during the winter months, but realized I wasn't getting any better, and was tired of falling down the mountain. So I have moved to a more peaceful winter activity, which is building a large fire and then basking in the glow with a good movie on.

Well, maybe this winter instead of kvetching about it, you and I go pay a visit to another Polkie who resides in Key West. If nothing else, we can chew the fat, visit, soak up some sun, complain about the world, listen to Jimmy Buffet, pound some beers and.......look at all the ladies wearing next to nothing.....and dream about being 30 years younger.

If it's gonna be cold, it may as well snow. I think we may see some record snow, given how strange the weather has been so far this past year. Of course, "record snow" would mean 4" in a 24hr period...LOL

Well the weather folks were wrong ( not surprised at all ) 12 inches on the ground, shoveled the drive way twice still snowing.
Probably get 18" before this system move pass us.

Weather Channel said 6 to 8 inches what's that close to a 100% more then was predicated.

But you know when I was a Kid I would be out with my shovel knocking on doors trying to make some money now days never see anyone.

Probably should invest in a snowblower I guess my kids (2 girls) looks at me like I got three heads if I ask for help shoveling.

What's that buzzing noise oh that's me whining.

    Cheers

You mean the kids don't have an app for snow shoveling ?

Kick their butts outside and physically hand them a shovel.....then point.

First snowman of the year for me! Size is relevant to the amount of snow we received! Ha Ha!
