I'm looking to connect my Onk to the wifi in my house with their wifi adapter. The thought that arises is, will anything else work?? Something better? Cheaper? (however $28ish isn't bad).

One other thing, since I have my music HD connected to the rear usb hookup on the Onk, can I get a usb splitter and keep the wifi adapter and the HD on the same rear plug? This is so I can keep things out of sight better. Will this work with both being plugged into the rear? Thoughts??

That might work fine as long as your splitter is of good quality. You can use someone else's WiFi USB adapter but why when the Onkyo isn't expensive?
Does the 809 have a front USB like the Integra's do?

Just making sure there wasn't a better solution than what they offer. Most things go that way it seems. It does have a front as well, I'd just rather keep everything hidden in the rear if I could.

Found out you can't use the rear usb port for the dongle on my 1010, so it has to plug in the front, I asked people at avs forum and they said the voltage on the rear port isn't compatable with the wi fi dongle? sucks to not be able to close the drop down door or my entertainment center door

I broke down and called onkyo and they told me to run 2 usb devices on the rear, u have to have a switch because it doesn't know where to send the signal. Just run the wifi adapter on the front port and leave the front plate down all the time.
