That looks awesome and i am sure it sounds just as good as it looks. Like Toolfan, I wonder how it may effect rear wave activity inside the cabinet, not just due to it being so deep inside the cabinet but I am also curious how the rear brace with the large inductor may resonate. Please don't think my curiosity is meant in any negative way. It is NOT at all. it is just curiosity. This job is a great example of your craftsmanship. I am just curious how this would compare to an external mount of the same build. initially i think it may effect the rear wave in a negative fashion. But then when considering the structure of the worlds leading speakers; Focal, Magico, Wilson, etc. they use such extensive internal bracing that it would also be in the way of any possible open space where the rear wave may travel. I have never been able to listen to such speakers but would assume that this bracing does not negatively effect the rear wave in any way. A bigger concern for me would be resonance.
On the subject others have mentioned; showing off your finished work. A lexan window in place of the original panel would be an option to see this type of beauty in its functioning environment. Maybe even the addition of a couple of LEDs. They could be wired from the sides behind the side trim panels to keep any wiring separated.
Once again, great job. if anyone ever tests these with external crossovers i would love to hear their thoughts. Especially if they experienced the same or similar crossover mounted internally. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Amazing. I would love to hear/read the impressions on the sound. Fabulous attention to detail, Trey.
This is great stuff, keep it coming! -
Awesome work, Trey. I noticed your mention of a drawer-type arrangement on the drawing board. My initial design for my SRS project features a rudimentary drawer. Nothing fancy. BTW, my center project moves along. Vr3mods Monastery Abbot review. December 14th, 2013
Tweaks, innovations, technology, what it is really all about is upgrade. I have the Abbot
Monastery crossover upgrade for a set of Polk Audio SDA 1.2 speakers. I purchased these
speakers March 1990 and though many speakers since have I listened to, I just could not part
with these. We'll here we are 2013 and I know with all the amplifier and various component
upgrades through the years, my speakers were relics and technologically the weak point in my
system and holding me back from the dream. The dream we all have to hear an artist in the
room just for you.
At the risk of being verbose I must explain. This vr3 mod upgrade is intense, dynamic, and
without reservation, worth each and every cent and time. The unit itself is nothing short of a
work of art in design, meticulous detail, and artisan labor intensive. Mine is all white and I wish I
could see them because they are so beautiful, knowing what they produce.
Now I could list all the listening tests I have done over the weeks I have had them in play
And anyone who wants to hear why I state the following, I'll gladly supply.
Suffice to say, three main, but not all inclusive, areas of speaker playback stand out here in
these crossovers.
A. Exquisite detail
B. Chest thumping tight mid range
C. Vocals that live in front of you
Nat King Cole, The Very Thought of You SACD track one, Mr Cole's voice mid timbre is lifted
from the music canvas, moves just forward of the speakers and they disappear.
Steely Dan Groucho SACD. Any track, detail, hearing the background never realized before
And on and on, the transitions can make you rediscover your musical collection.
When an upgrade makes you long to hear it again, you have been given a gift.
Out of the box this vr3mod upgrade blew me away in presence. After two hundred hours and
more, I am captivated by what the next CD will reveal I never heard before. I have recently
compared them to >$30,000 speakers at a local shop, critical listening, they were nice, money
no object, the Polks with the Vr3mod Monastery upgrade destroyed them in total presence. I am
a very critical listener I know what I hear and what I don't. I am not easily convinced. Every
upgrade to my system is tested, DAC, CABLES, and the music source recording itself.
I have a small studio where I remaster music I own, and do a better job in some cases, than
some remastering companies. Enough of this though, I just wanted to covey, I am extremely
happy with this upgrade.
Vr3mods is a model of a company in customer relations, product innovations, production, and
satisfaction guarantees that are worth every word, so very rare in today's market, no matter
what you're buying.
Sincerely,
Robert- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Another absolutely satisfied customer. Trey is a one of a kind for sure, and he deserves all of the accolades he receives...We are all so fortunate to have him here. I am damn sure if he focused his mind to rid the world of disease he could... OK that was a little over the top

I know it's been said before. To make an acrylic window of some kind to see the work. I realize most want to keep their big x-panels as original as possible but if Ferrari and the Ford GT show off their engines under glass then maybe someone would be brave enough to do this this also to the panels.I like the colored LED touch also.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
