RT3000p Amp Problem.

I have a pair of RT3000p main speakers with the built in amps in the subs.
I think I have a blown amp, the distorted buzz sounds like a speaker went bad.
The two fuses appear to be ok.
I swapped the two amps to see if it was the speakers themselves or the amplifier, it was the amp.
How can I get this amp repaired?

    Hello,
The best thing to do is to send the amplifier to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address, daytime telephone number and a copy of your sales receipt. The service folks will determine the cause of the problem and act accordingly.
    Regards, Ken

I had same problem with my RT3000P...

Extremely distorted sound from one of the sub units. I called Polk customer service, they suggested that one of the drivers (8" sub speaker) could have a shorted voicecoil. Instead of having to ship the entire sub unit in for service (heavy/expensive), I could verify that it was just a faulty driver by swapping the drivers (speakers) from one sub unit to the other and see if the distorted sound switched sides. If the distortion switched sides, then I have bad driver(s), if the distortion doesn't switch sides, then I have a bad amp.

Well, now I have TWO blown amps... I'm getting heavy distortion from both sub units. I'm guessing that switching the speakers (presumably one with a short) fried my "good" amp.

Bad news is, I don't have a receipt (for warranty service) and I've heard replacement amps are $700 EACH. Anybody want to buy two Rt3000P PLANTSTANDS cheap?
