I've been watching a lot of football this year and I noticed some crappy sound quality. Mind you I have Verizon Fios service with a current model DVR in the QIP7232.2. It's wired with a Audioquest Cinnamon 1.5m HDMI cable to my Pioneer Elite SC-68.
All other shows, movies etc all sound great .
NFL games not so great. Anyone else notice this?
It's like the center info is recessed and volume is turned down in general.

Not a bad idea. I'm a huge play it as it's recorded or live broadcasted but it's not that good this year for some reason.Dan

ABC college football is the worst. Center channel is way too quiet. I agree they need to work on a sound check.

Can't say I've noticed anything off with the sound while I'm watching football. I have Direct TV & run the Sports Mode on my AVR...rather impressive with the presence speakers in operation. I feel like I'm at the stadium & everything is loud, clear, & very dynamic. I don't know if the sound would vary depending on the carrier but I wouldn't think so."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

I can't say that I've noticed the sound as bad or good....mediocre at best. You want some clear dialog for the game? Go to a live game at a stadium with a Danley Sound Labs system amazing clarity and bass!

I have to agree. seems like the center channel or the announcers mics are just not producing the correct sound level. It's almost like the crowd noise is drowning them out. I can't remember a specific channel or game, but I've noticed a few times this year...
Att uverse btw....
