LSi M 704c versus CSi A6
I'm currently in the process of putting together a 5.1 system. Currently it consists of RTi A1's for my L/R and F/Xi A4's for my back left/right surrounds.
My question is would the LSi M 704c timbre mismatch, if any, be significantly noticeable or would I be better off staying in the RTi series with the CSi A6 and upgrading my center when I can afford to step up my entire front sound stage to the LSi's?

The conventional wisdom is that you should stay with the same range of speaker. Although Polk Audio speakers can be quite forgiving in this area, most will still advise against matching LSi M with RTi A.

Have to agree with Kex. What you should do is just get the CSi center and do the same thing when and if you upgrade, i.e., buy your L/R LSiMs first while you continue to run the old center until you can afford to upgrade to the matching center for that series.
Not to worry, you can flip all your Rti-As here when you're ready and you have enough posts?
As far as matching, the tweeters in the Rti-As and those in the LSiMs are quite "different"!

You can leave off the center for the time being. Many of us do not use a center channel. Next Polk special sale I expect to add the CSI A6. I have been holding off buying the A6 because I might want to switch to the LSIM series but I have been unable to demo them so I am giving up.Panasonic 65" Plasma - Panasonic Blu-ray. Onkyo TX-NR809 RTi A7s fronts - MK CS150s surronds.

Thank you guys, your responses helped a lot. I'll be holding out for the CSi A6 for the time being. Again, I appreciate the detailed responses!
