He's from Chitown Tim, what else would you expect.

Interesting. I grew up in Detroit, lived in Champaign-Urban, lived in Chitown, sent my daughter to school in Madison. All liberal paradises come to think of it.

    Dude. Three things:

    1) Most if not all of the political tripe on here come from conservatives. From what I've seen, we progressives/liberals generally don't start these things.

    2) I generally pass the stuff up, but in this case I clicked thinking it was a post about "Family Guy," which would've been worth a minute of my time, unlike the current discussion.

    3) If folks on here can't follow the rules, is it too much to ask that political posts are at least labeled as such, so those of us who are here to discuss and learn about hifi aren't sucked into your rabbit holes?

Could someone please stop offending stretchl before he uses the word tripe again!

That sounds like a good conservative choice.

Why would anyone want a CD player when they have a michell sitting there!

I like to both CD's and vinyl.

I went to a turntable seminar at Paragon Audio in Madison WI that convinced me that vinyl really does sound better than CD's. It's just that it is so expensive and fussy to get vinyl "right".

When playing a LP, find myself reaching for a remote to skip a song, or wishing I could put it on "random".

I guess I will keep both formats, and I haven't even thought about putting music on a server.

Uhm .... kind of slow on the uptake, IMO. You might consider alternate sources for news information; it's fun AND informative.

I do believe MrBBluelight is merely pointing out that most Polkies, even the really really politically volatile ones, are real "bunnies" up close--once you meet them, that is!

    Phone calls from Hell

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.
While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The
devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so
    Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she
is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so
    she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush
got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: "Since Obama took over, the country has
gone to hell, so it's a local call."
